      WILD - With Eyes Open

I forget which member mentioned this, but they said they had tried WILD with their eyes open, the actual tut said eyes closed. I attempted it and, near success!

Here are the steps I took.

      1) Go to bed normally, but don't go to sleep, make sure your room is relatively dark and quiet.
      2) Stare at your ceiling for a while and relax.
      3) Don't think of anything yet.
      4) Now, count from 100 down to 0 over and over again without stopping at all (It is ok to skip some numbers). Don't count out loud. Remember to stare at the ceiling!
      5) After some time, you might feel tingly. This is the paralyzation stage of sleep. You might start to feel heavy too.
      6) Your breathing will become deep and slow, and black and white HI will appear and you will hear HS. Don't be afraid!
      7) If you go with the flow, you should become suddenly relaxed. Do an RC or two. If it is a dream, congrats!

I will edit again and tweak my post, this is just from my own account. Post your own results here.

      What's a hag?

Also, on an unrelated note, anyone notice that as you start on the WILD you have this feeling that you can move your body outside of where you're lying motionless? I tried doing that to turn over a couple of times but it quickly snapped me back to where I was like a rubber band. Doesn't really happen to me while I'm fully awake.

One question, would this be better after a WBTB or when you first go to bed?

I did this right when I got in bed, but you could try a WBTB. Who knows, better results?

You'll only see the hag if you expect her. Expect a litter of puppies and kittens instead, or something.

      Ok, thanks!

I will try this technique for my afternoon nap, seeing as that my eyelids like to open while I do a normal WILD.

don't have a single idea of what it may be

but i say: wouldn't your eyes annoy you if you don't bother blinking?

      Old Hag...

About the old hag - http://paranormal.about.com/library/weekly...y/aa112000a.htm I myself has experienced it, but don't be afraid, you can very easily banish these feelings of dread by imagining/visualizing a white light surrounding you and just reasurring yourself that it isn't real and it's all in your mind.

Knowing myself, I think I'd start thinking about the etomology of the word "hag" and soon bore myself to sleep.

You can blink if you want, it doesn't really matter, it's just a better way to stay conscious.

      the old hag

Anyone ever slept with the old hag??

I've had a few such encounters but before you consider me a grave-robbing freak, I'd like to add that I modified her appearance significantly.

Turning negative events into positive ones - that's the fun of lucid dreaming.

      Happy dreaming!
