      Having trouble...

I guess I'm being quite impatient here, but after trying WILD, VILD and FILD I've had no success at achieving lucidity at all. MILD doesn't sound like it's the technique for me, although I'm certainly willing to give it a shot. What I'm trying to get at here is that I don't which Technique is the one for me. I like the sound of VILD, but I attempted it and failed (I don't think I was tired enough). FILD sounds as though it could work, but looks as if it isn't hugely effective, and WILD is just weird...

Should I continue to look for dreamsigns and then do reality checks upon seeing them (This is what I understand DILD to be) or give VILD another shot?
I think DILD sounds more effective in the long run, but I'm just not patient enough to wait weeks to discover proper dreamsigns

Maybe I should continue VILD and maybe FILD while attempting to analyze dreamsigns and increase my number of RCs?

Also, what sort of thing would be an appropriate dreamsign? Both common in the real world and common in the dream world (I guess thats dependent on what I dream about though...)?
And what sort of RC should I do?

I find keeping a dream journal and checking reality whenever I remember efficient enough. It's also something you should do regardless of if you use specific tehcniques like WILD, MILD etc. It's important that you get to know your dream world and can create a routine of questioning the reality.

So, if you're new to lucid dreaming, which you sound like, concentrate on dream journal and reality checks. You don't need dream signs to do them, just do them whenever you remember, and it'll became a routine. Personally I find pinching my nose and trying to breath through it an efficient check. Try also others such as taking two looks at a digital clock, looking at your hands, pushing your finger through your palm etc.

Also try different specific techniques every now and then, but focus in dream journal and reality checks. That's what I'd suggest.
Don't think about those damn kangaroos.

I thought it'd be logical to see what features are common in my dreams and then perform reality checks whenever I see them (whether in the real world.... or not, as the case may be)?
