      Road signs

Just thought I would share this experience I had last night. I thought it was kind of interesting.

I awoke from an especially vivid, but non-lucid, dream around 1:43 a.m. I was hanging out at work with someone I'll call 'Bob'. Anyway, I was still sufficiently relaxed enough to attempt a MILD.

I lay awake a few moments remembering details in the 'Bob' dream that should have triggered lucidity and then focused my intent to re-enter the dream and become lucid. Sometime within a few moments I fell asleep.

I found myself walking down a desert road, way out in the country. Rememded me a lot of the desert east of Oakland CA. As I walked, I approached a road sign. It was kind of like the welcome signs you see as you enter a small town.

The sign said: 'Welcome to Bob's Dream'. The letters were even fuzzy and doing strange things.

I walked on and re-entered the dream, but *sigh* I remained in a non-lucid state.

Sometimes you just can't get lucid, even when you have a nice big sign trying to help you along!

Anyway, it was really cool! But would have been cooler had I become lucid!

Thanks! I never thought of running through the dreamsigns of previous dreams whilst falling asleep. That sounds like a great technique. Have a light bulb as my token of gratitude

Lol. A nice large sign would be nice. I wish I got one like that.

The first lucid dream I had after I came here I saw a stop sign then I looked back at it and it said "toast" and I knew I was dreaming. I was talking to a person about the sign though so if I didn't notice it would of been ban. I woke up like a second after I became lucid. I have not had a dream since then where I read something and it changed.

hi seeker, haven't been around much, but nice one - that's quite cool!! Next time you see the big sign = instant lucidituy perhaps?
I live in this place with a natural grace.... and I walk through confusion with a smile on my face.

Wow what an interesting dream seeker. Talk about your vivid "Dream Signs." There are so many various ways you can look into that particular dream, from over-looking for dream signs to even possibly entering Bob's dream and being totally unaware of it. I just wonder sometimes, why does our logic decrease to such a small point where we accept anything in a dream but in the waking world the things we accept would probably freak us out. I tell ya the human brain.. go figure right!
