      Thumbs up

Hey everyone. Im pretty new here and have just found out yesterday what exactly WILD is. I tried it last night and failed becasue I fell asleep

The exact method I used is through the link below and I was wondering if anyone else had tried it and/or they had any tips on WILDs.

I tried it many times and haven't succeeded yet.
And don't worry, allhough for some people WILDing seems rather easy to do, for Most people it is just very very Difficult. Sleep just hypnotises you and makes you loose conciousness. The trick is not to lose conciousness. But sofar I haven't had any success with WILD yet.

Perhaps you should try increasing your lucidity by means of other techniques first before you should attempt WILD. It is what I do. Working on my Dreamrecall (by dreamjournalling & Slowly awakening trying to remember my dream before I open my eyes and rise from my bed ) seems to work best for me at the moment.

Yeah WILD seems to be a learning process. I have failed WILD 5 times now, though 4 of those I actually made it to SP. However I have managed to have 3 lucid dreams in the past week. In addition to practicing at WILD I have been doing basically incessant reality checks. This has paid off in spades. My first piece of advice is to not completely bank on WILD. It still really intrigues me and I WILL master it, but meanwhile I have been having Lucid Dreams through other means. That's what I would do if I were you, you can continue to practice WILD but also try something else, keep a Dream Journal, try to identify your dream signs, and do reality checks everytime something odd happens, and just basically a lot. As for WILD here is another link for you to scope out:
      The Five Phases of WILD

If you wanna try some reality checks and stuff while your awake then you can read here:
      Reality Checks Tutorial

My chosen technique is the "pinch your nose and try to breathe" one. It tends to work quite well for me so far. Hope this is some help for you. About the most important piece of advice I can provide is don't give up! Hope this helps.

Yeah since WILD acquires you to stay conciouss as you fall asleep I'v been trying to determine WHAT conciousness actually is and how I remain to stay concious throughout the day in Waking Life. What is it that keeps us Concious in waking life?

I actually got an idea just from reading this Topic.
I noticed while doing realitychecks that alot of times during the day I am not even fully conciouss. This is due to Dayly Trance. ( due to dayly trance you'll often find alot of things you do in Waking life you hardly even know you did it. Like putting on a song to listen to it, doing something else on your PC in th meanwhile and then comming to the conclusion the song has already ended without you being able to recall ever having heard it! ...Sounds familiar? Anyone?)

There's ALWAYS the never ending flow of random thoughts in our minds. But WHAT exactly is it in Waking Life that keeps us from getting hypnotised by and lose conciousness to it as IS experienced when falling asleep? I would just LOVE to know.

Also an idea I just came up with to First expand conciousness before doing an RC is:
Any time during the day say ''STOP!''....''What am I doing right now?'' ''What is happening around me'' And then conclusively ''Is that* Normal''

*that = what you are doing and what is happening around you.

WILD is a different experience for everyone. I do not know of any universal technique that works for even more than a small percentage of those that attempt it.

What you might do is to read up on a few tutorials about it and then customize it to meet your needs.

      Good luck!

you must be the change you wish to see in the world...
