The tutorials make WILDing sound as though you just have to lay down and think about nothing apart from lucid dreaming for about an hour, and you will conciously go into a dream. Is it really that easy?

In every one elses experience, can WILDing be done on the first attempt? I'm going to try it tonight and I want to make sure that I know all I need to know before attempting it. I've had no luck with reality checking, and DILD's.

Don't expect utter success without any failure but at the same time strive for success always.

All training is done through trial and error. With every attempt you'll get closer and closer to the goal. You might or might not be successful tonight but either way, it will bring you new knowledge of WILDing, which you will be able to use at your next attempt or next successful WILD.

sounds easy doesn't it? But you'll understand exactly WHY it is so hard to do as you become aware of what exactly happens to your Mind while you fall asleep:
Observe your thought process. While at first it may prove really easy to control your thoughts and focus your attention on Lucid Dreaming, the deeper you're sinking away into sleep your Thoughts start becomming more and more uncontrolable, spontanious and random. That's what usually makes us fall Unconcious.

I've heard it said many times that WILD-ing at night is like batteling a tiger with your bare hands: You'll end up loosing it for sure.. Therefor many recommend to do this after having just awoken from a dream, while still in the ''dreamy'' state of Mind. Appearantly as you fall asleep again you will end up dreaming much faster and lighter since you're already well rested from a night full of sleep.

If you're very very tired you'll most likely pass out within no time after closing your eyes. Being well-rested before hand (yet still tired enough to be able to sleep) seems to give WILD a much better chance.

I don't know if i'm just going crazy or if I actually just almost did it. I'd been attempting to wild for about twenty minutes when my right arm felt numb, and my left arm was about half as numb as the right. My whole body felt about three times as heavy as it normally would, and I was beginning to see weird patterns. I've read that all this stuff is supposed to happen, but when I seemed to be really getting into it, I felt like I was rolling over in bed. I let it happen for two or three seconds when it really freaked me out and I opened my eyes and jumped out of bed. I regret stopping now, and wish that i'd carried on. Does this mean that i'd almost done it, or was it only just starting? I don't know if twenty minutes is long enough for it to happen, because I've been told that it can take about an hour.
