Find a corner of the room you are in where two walls and the ceiling meet (it's like three triangles forming a sort of Y). If you look at it right it can cause an optical illusion where it looks like a corner on the outside of a cube rather than the inside. You might not see it straight away, but it's there. If you're in a dream there is absolutely no chance of something strange NOT happening... when awake you can just sort of see it for a bit before it's a corner in the ceiling again.

I appreciate that this might be a little trickier than most, but make it work for you and it's a mind blowing reality check.

Sounds like a cool thing to do in a dream, but too much trouble for me to do as a reailty check during the day. In a dream I'll probaly get dizzy and fall out side of the wall or something, if I try that. Does that rc work for you?

I'm gonna give it a try.

Maybe you should think up some more of these 'out of the box' reality checks, peter.
I will some day legally change my name to:

You aren't controlling yourself when you do an RC in a dream (most of the time). The thing about RCs is that you have to make them a habit. By making them a habit, you will eventually do them in your dreams, because when you're a character in a dream, you follow your own habits. It should be on the main site.

For me reality checks in a dream are never a conscious thing, just an automatic habit I've built up whilst awake that snap me out of that cloudy half-consciousness in dreams. The only other ones that ever worked for me were breathing through a pinched nose and digital clocks (they usually change without even having to look twice).

With this cube illusion one, something ridiculous will happen and there will be no doubt in your mind that it is a dream. An example being your in a room, look at the corner and it transforms into a skyscraper. Jaw dropping. Just have to be careful you can stabalize the dream when this sort of thing happens.

sounds kidna scary... imagin if you ended up looking at the conner of a skyscarper and u realise you were standing on nothing and begain to fall lol... not cool
As waves of plastic fame go out of fashion, You're going out (going out) forever unknown. These waves of plastic fame go out of fashion, You're going out (going out) forever unknown.

From above a rain of ashes descends anathema. I will remain, forever will remain. From below, in my seclusion, look up to the sky to see See paper wings and watch them burn.

I imagine you'd start flying or something... kind of the whole point of this reality check lark, isn't it?
