Lightbulb

Hope it's the right place to put this topic.

Haven't had a ld yet. It's taken me longer than I expected, and I still haven't reached one yet. I need help, I am starting to lose patience.

Ok, firstly I have a dream journal, I have great recall (not recently though) and only a few of my dreams have been significantly vivid. I have recalled about seventy dreams from day one, it's been a little more than a month now. I don't do barely any rc's during the day, only the occasional thought and hand checks.

So having said that, I'd really appreciate any help. I'd like to have dilds, but my dreams are either too involved or too foriegn to even think about doing a reality check. It's like I can see what's going on and be aware that I am experiencing something, but can't sure whether it's a dream or not and can't catch my awareness enough.

I'm guessing you want me to rc more often, but can there be more than that?

Yep. . . RC's are important. Recall and RC's tend to work best when used with another method as well. Have you tried the WBTB method? You are much more likely to have a LD if you break up your sleep. MILD is a good one to use too and it works well with the WBTB method. You have to catalogue dream signs as well. Since people's minds tend to be so disoriented during dreams, it's not always enough to just have great recall. It's much easier to realize something is a dream if you have afew specific things to look for. . . My dreamsigns include -being a student, pizza, murder, being a mother, the presense of celebrities (David Boreanaz especially). . . You have to find a small list of things that you dream of more frequently than most things so you can make your brain's job easier.

Just keep on doing what you are doing. It seems sometimes that your mind will fight zealously to keep you in a non-lucid state.

I know I am extremely angry at my mind right now. I've been having more dream signs in my nightly dreams than I have for over a year, two to five a night in fact but cannot recognize it. I plan on keeping up my reality checks as well and praying that something will give.

I have every confidence that you will have an LD if you keep it up. One other thing, are you actively using any of the induction techniques like MILD and WILD? Those tend to compliment keeping a journal and doing RCs.
you must be the change you wish to see in the world...

What Jimmie Lynne and seeker said are a good coarse to follow.
I would like to add that sometimes when we begin to get frustrated it hinders our efforts even more. It ( our mind) makes a mountain out of a mole hill.
So just be patient and try not to get discouraged and your mind will come around at some point.

Keep being positive, any negativity stops you going lucid. Just be patient as well, every one is different so the time it takes people to go lucid varies.

For DILDs you need to do reality checks and know what your dream signs are. So that you trick your brain into knowing your dreaming.

Hope this helps.

I agree with Howetzer there, if you think this is hard try learning the basics of being a psychic alot harder I know its a different matter but the same ammount of patients is required... you just have keep trying, I think it was Winston Churchil who said "If your going through hell, keep going"

Thanks everyone.

Seeker, I don't often try MILD, that's pretty rare but I'm going for it now. I never try WILDs they seem a little too scary and unnatural.

And Jimmie Lynne, thanks for that idea, I've never thought of MILD AND a WBTB method! I hope it works, except there may be one problem, I never get the chance to stay up long, and then go back to bed due to my schedule. But I have heard stories of people attaining lucidity through simply just waking up in the night, so maybe that's for me - I wake up alot.

Hmm, yesterday I had an afternoon nap for two hours (3-5pm), had no recall. Then when I went to bed later at 12am I couldn't get to sleep until about 3am.

Other things, I find it hard to do anything even if I do know my dreamsigns. It's like, when your watching a movie - you're not thinking about what shoes you're wearing or how many seats to the left you're sitting.

Well, I'll keep trying, but what's if your dream signs are not in the waking life?

I find that the longer I stay awake the better my chances are for an LD. . . 30-60 minutes and nothing happens. . . 60-90 minutes I realize I'm dreaming but immediatly wake up. . . 90-120 minutes is where I seem to have my LDs. The timing is different for everyone though so start with small amounts of time and gradually build until you find the one most effective for you.
