I noticed that everytime I tried to WILD I failed to maintain conscious longer than normal.
I tried counting, focussing on my breathing, focussing on 1 single image...etc but all failed to keep me conscious longer let alone all the way into the Dream.

However 1 night I was trying to WILD as I was just laying there I suddenly noticed how Sleep Paralysis was completely over me. I felt very ''removed'' from my own body. And not long after I became Aware of my Body I suddenly saw a bright white light in front of me and I tried to ''enter'' it's center. As I did I felt as if I suddenly was Falling down FAST. non stop. I recognised the feeling as ''the falling sensation'' as being part of the Transition Phase. I fell unconscious after that anywayz, but never before had I stayed conscious so long reaching such deep hypnagogic states.

Now my point is: Appearantly, where Counting, Breathing, Visualising and everything else failed to help me stay conscious longer, Staying aware of my Physical Body seemed to do the trick and brought me into Deep Hypnagogic States very Consciously and very ''suddenly'' it seemed.

Anyone in for giving this Concept an Experimental try?
Now the Idea of this Concept of a techniqe is to stay overall Well aware of your entire Physical body.
I'm a very ''physical person'' so this method just spoke to me more than other's that didn't really do it for me.

As your lying in bed really ''Feel'' your body and to stop it from getting dull and you giving up by moving your attention from one bodypart to the other. Become very well aware of how you are Feeling throughout your body. How does your Righ foot feel? What do you feel in your left lower leg?...etc. Keep your thoughts and awareness on the Body.

I noticed that while doing this after waiting for quite a long time ''suddenly'' I noticed how paralysed I was and I felt as if I was falling down with 80 km/hour. It has led me to the Deepest states Consciously. The deepest states I have EVER consciously experienced. I hope with this technique I can consciously undergo Sleep Paralysis and all that comes after that too:The TransitionPhase and the Dream. As your lying there, and suddenly feel the falling sensation, very removed from your physical Body or both, just KEEP your attention to your Body allthough you completely cannot feel it anymore . This may be freaky and Disorientating at first but the point is to Stay aware of that ''you are still lying there in bed'' all the time. If you succeed to maintain aware of ''where you left your body'' all the way into the Dream, then you should be fully aware that your Body lies asleep in bed and that you now MUST be dreaming.

So if anyone wants to give this a try tonight? So will I. Let me know.

I would try this tonight, but I worry too much, I wouldn't want to 'step into the light' when the time comes. Didn't you ever feel that way?

I know what you mean. Try to convince yourself that no harm will come to you, you will be able to wake up again etc. or whatever fear you have about it. Try to let go, just think f@%* it! Let's do it!

Well I wasn't affraid of Stepping into the white Light. If I was I wouldn't have tried it 5 times in a row.
I only moved back out since the shocking falling sensation was a bit too intense. Quite a Freaky experience. But I have had more experiences that at first were so alien to me that I found them Freaky. As I Experienced them more I learned how to experience them positively and go with the flow. So I sure as hell can Go with the Hypnagogic Flow as well. I'm actually eager to experience such profoundly deep Hypnagogic states again.

PS: I didn't do it in a WBTB way. I just can't get into the whole WBTB thing. It happened to me while I attempted WILD at my normal bedtime. Around midnight. And one other occasion I experienced it very intensely as well was in an early evening after-dinner 2 hour nap. Both occasions I was REALLY very sleepy when I went to sleep. That ''I'm so sleepy I can hardly keep my eyes-open'' sleepyness is so intense that when I lay down to sleep while feeling that sleepy I get very SP almost right away and advanced Hypnagogic Hallucinations pretty fast. Within 30 Minutes atfer closing my eyes.

Hmm that natural Heavy duty sleepy feeling is the best. I am however a Chronically rather bad sleeper. I now have a period I can get to sleep easier again. Bliss. Does anyone know how to induce that SUPER drowsy sleepy feeling that sometimes just hits you like a train? Like you can't stop yawning and can hardly keep your eyes open?

I really need that type of severe sleepyness. It's not only healthy but good for WILDing and reaching SPm and Hypnagogic Disco-time really fast.

Reading a book that I like but I don't love has that effect on me. I'm enjoying it but not so much I keep myself awake.

By the way did you happen to have smoked some cannabis within a couple of hours before trying that WILD? Have you ever had any success with WILDs after smoking? Just asking because of the supposed REM supression.

I know about Depressants and REM-supression. Weed is, amongst Psychedelic and Euphoric, also a Depressant and known to surpress REM-sleep. That's why, in case I'm experimenting with Dreaming and Lucidity, I don't smoke any weed or hashis some 4 hours prior to sleep. I only smoke it 'before bedtime when I REALLY can't get no sleep or when I'm not attempting any lucid Dream Induction Methods at all. Sometimes I just like to Sleeeeeeeep

No, Weed, Hashis, Alcohol, Cough Syrups: Stay away from them if you wanna Dream that night: it kills REMsleep.

So should you focus on your entire body or part by part?
And just to see I got this right: I go to bed and just think about my body, the way it feels and keep thinking about that. Do I ever have to change my way of thinking?
I'm definitely trying this; all that breathing stuff doesn't really work for me either. If I remember to try this out tonight, I will post my results tomorrow.

ps did you notice that it says 'Netyherlands' in your thingy?

Yeah I'm to lazy to get that y out of there I'll fix it.

And yeah focus on your Entire body as a whole. You can focus on each individual bodypart to check for Sleep Paralysis: I usually get numbness in my feet and legs first, Then my arms and hands and gradually the rest of my body.

Well I'm gunna try tonight, with my window open. A cool nightly breeze should keep me more overall aware and make it easier to feel your body due to the cold air touching your skin.
If it's too cold I'll just wrap some extra blankets over myself. Usually a Cold room Gradually wakes me up, very slowly. So I guess that might have possitive effect on DreamRecall too.

Well we're going to find out.

Yeah, I'm willing to give it a try. When did this WILD attempt occur? after 5hrs of sleep or right before you went to sleep?

Also once you start the transition or "step into the light" maybe you should switch from awareness of your body to counting or another technique since you're more in your head at this point. Just a thought.

By going to my molecular and cell biology class, that ALWAYS does the trick
or start reading some kind of scientific paper, that really gets me going.

I just stay up most of the night and go to sleep in the morning its really hard not to go to sleep then.... and when you said "keep your focus on the body" how can you do that without moving... I find that if I feel my leg it most likly is gonan twitch or osmething.... Ive goten that extream falling sensation before but I sware I wasnt in SP.
As waves of plastic fame go out of fashion, You're going out (going out) forever unknown. These waves of plastic fame go out of fashion, You're going out (going out) forever unknown.

From above a rain of ashes descends anathema. I will remain, forever will remain. From below, in my seclusion, look up to the sky to see See paper wings and watch them burn.

That's okay. I also have these twitches. Let it twitch. It is actually a Hypnagogic Shock and happens everynight to everyone that falls asleep. I guess we, lucid Dreamers, are one of the few who are still conscious while that happens. Allow your body to twitch, just don't force it to move too much deliberately: Start Tossing and Turning and you'll most likely have a very restless tossing and turning night. If you feel like rolling to your side then only do so if you really feel comfortable that way.

Otherwise ignore the urge to roll onto your side and just stay on your back. Just know that you'll be ''gone'' in a sec anywayz so it doesn't matter that you're lying on your back: Soon you won't feel your body anymore anywayz.

I find ITCH the hardest thing to ignore really. Some I just MUST scratch, but most I CAN ignore by placing my attention to something else completely. I rarely give in to the urge of tossing and turning.

SKA, some things that i know to have given me some great sleep fast are trytophan, a large meal, beeing in an uncomfortable position/chair and then getting comfortable quickly, and also, sleeping with all fo your cloths on, if its nto too warm. also, a low temp really helps. using som eof these factors i have closed my eyes and opened them and it was morning. although, ihave found that when you are really tired, its very hard to lucid if your not trying to wild of fild. nice idea about bilding tho.
*note*^ the above comment was not meant to be hurtful, nor insulting. It is just another of my cynnical observations of fact. If you happened to be offended by my logic, too bad.

Yeah a large meal can make you feel very tired I know. Tryptophan is also in bananas which is why I often eat a Banana or 2 some hour before bedtime.

And yeah what you said about sitting in an uncomfortable position for a while:
I did an experiment once where I tried to Increase my awareness and realisation of how sweeeeet the comfort of a bed is. I slept on the floor for a week and then I slept in Bed again. Really makes you realise how comfortable a bed is Same with food or ANYTHING you CAN enjoy if you fully come to realise how precious it is really.

You don't know what you've got till it's gone

Now I was thinking of ways to stimulate the sense of Touch while you fall asleep.
Something that gives a constant touch-sensory impulse: Like a Minty balm all over your body that feels very cool. Do you know TigerBalm? It's VERY minty and sharp. too much will irritate the skin, but a little should deliver a constant touch-stimuli. Perhaps the same thing could be done with Pressure to the skin: Accupressure is where little metal balls are tightly taped onto the skin. Something like that shoud help maintaining awareness of your physical body easier.
