The usual RC in FILD is to pinch your nose and try breathing through the pinched nose. The problem is that the physical act of moving your arm and pinching your nose can wake you up. So what I suggest is to take a deep breath and try holding your breath by internally closing off your nasal passage -- just like when you are under water or hold your breath to avoid fumes -- then try breathing through the closed nasal passage. Bit difficult to explain. There seems to be a muscle at the base of the nasal passage that closes it when you hold your breath. If you take a deep breath then hold it, you will feel what happens.
Another new FILD reality test is to try poking your tapping finger through the bedsheet into the bed.
I haven't tried these yet so don't know if they work, so plz give your input. Yesterday, I started a one month FILD experiment and will report my results in this post.
