I do whilst awake, but never in my dream. Usually the finget through palm technique. It never crosses my mind in a dream.

just a suggestion: i would try to use more than one reality check technique. i use the fool proof nose check. it hasn't failed me yet.

i'd also like to add that during my first lucid dream, i became lucid using the nose check. i started to question being in a dream so i tried the finger through the palm check and it didn't work (i redid nose check and was dreaming). sometimes reality checks don't work. maybe thats why?

It's hard to make yourself do a reality check during a dream, try them often in the day, that might work eventually.

It IS hard to make yourself do a RC in a dream. A couple of nights ago, I had a dream that I forced a group of awake people into a LD and then was explaining some RC methods to my mother. I was dreaming the whole time and didn't even think of doing an RC, because I had no idea I was dreaming. Then I had another dream that night where I was in a big store looking at merchandise. I noticed that things didn't look right, but I decided I was in a virtual reality program instead of in a dream without ever thinking about doing an RC. I definitely have LD on my mind, but I have a lot of trouble making the transition, even after having had a couple LDs. I'm thinking about getting a watch with an hour chime and doing an RC everytime it goes off. Has anyone tried that?

How long have you been trying? Since 27th of Aug (your join date)?
That's nothing. Keep going, you'll get one soon.

I'll try tonight. Wish me luck. And the fool proof nose is where you pinch it and breathe through it right?

No RC is foolproof, but that one is definitely one of the most reliable ones for most people.

Hehehe, so far whenever I use the nose RC, 2 holes open above where I am pinching and I breathe through them. Pretty cool. I wonder what'll happen if I pinch the very top of my nose lol. "Your pupils are looking rather large there Stoat......"

What about for false awakenings though? They seem so realistic that just asking yourself if you're dreaming might not be enough to determine whether or not you really are.

Have you tried WBTB MGuy? It worked for me the first time I tried it and I had my first LD in over 10 years.
