I searched the form a bunch and didn't find anything so don't yell at me...please.

So I've been trying to get sleep paralysis for a while now to get directly into a lucid and last night it finally happened because I could NOT sleep (I was up till 2:30&#33. So I was in SP, and I was like...Great. Now what.

Hehe...never really thought about that. So the question IS (emphasis on the 'is&#39:

How do you get from sleep paralysis into a lucid dream?

Your help is greatly appreciated a lot. And I'm being redundant and repeating things. Hehe.

Although I'm not a WILD expert, it seems that the WILD progression is: NORMAL CONSCIOUS ---> SP ---> HI --> LD. If you reach SP, visualize a previous dreamscene or patiently wait until HI manifests. Good luck.

yup yup i think thats correct. And if you werent finding much on SP or maybe werent sure where to look here is an acronym list. http://www.dreamviews.com/forum/inde...showtopic=3243 From there you can find the WILD tutorial or SP tuturial and it might be of further assistance. Good luck. SP would kinda scare me

Yeah, I haven't actually been past the SP, but that is about it. I think though that you can't SP into an LD unless you've first gotten a good 4 or 5 hours of sleep, so if you haven't been asleep for a while in the first place, it is unlikely that you will enter an LD before you've been in SP for a couple hours i believe.

      That seems very accurate.
Let it happen. Let the manifestations create themselves via your subconscious. HI & SP can both be a prelude to lucid dreaming.

Prevailing theory of SP is that it happens when your body is asleep. So next step is to get mind dreaming. Here are a few techniques. You should also read some of the WILD tutorials.

      1) visualize/imagine walking down a flight of stairs
      2) visualize/imagine pulling yourself arm over arm up a rope hanging from your ceiling over your bed
      3) sing a song inside your head
      4) count backwards from a 100, telling yourself you are dreaming (99 I'm dreaming, 98 I'm dreaming....)

Not necessarily. Some people can WILD directly from waking state. Many of my DILDs come after 1 hour of sleep.

It may be common for some people to partially wake up in middle of night with SP, and then try WILDING. But it is not a requirement.

Thanks, guys. I didn't think of it as WILD, but I guess that's exactly what it is. The problem was, I was so awake after getting into SP (after no sleep, I just layed down in bed at bedtime), that I couldn't begin to dream. Eventually I broke out of the SP and I still couln't sleep till 2:30.

I'll try WILD tonight, with the proper amount of sleep first.

From learning experience, deprive your self from sleep or sleep for an entire day. The latter oddly works better for me. P: *lol*

I'm sure there are other ways such as waking up 5-6 hours in a drowsy mood and falling into a SP state. You can also induce your self into SP without having hours of sleep first, although it is very difficult and requires a great deal of concentration...

You can also put yourself in a deep state of relaxation and then program an autohynosis on yourself, so when you wake up in the middle of the night (aka during your REM sleep) you can count down from 10, say your trigger phrase, and then be completley relaxed in a matter of seconds. You can then proceed to whatever technique you want to use to go into a lucid state. Im sure you can find a tutorial on auto hypnosis somewhere around here. You'll have to "reprogram" your trigger phrase every 2 or 3 days, but its better than spending 20-40 minutes trying to relax every time you want to enjoy a LD.

Also, knowing how many hours after sleep to wake up is helpful. So for example maybe 4 hours into sleep is the best time to wake up and youll be most tired, but still able to function enough to do a FILD for example.

By the way, kichigai, i love your sig and avatar :bravo:

Gotta say that's not how it works for me.

NOrmal conscious --> HI -->SP --> Dreamscene imagery --> LD
      Lucid, my way of life.

Hi Wuollet: See my comment on HI in today's post on Audio, Visual and Movement WILD.

Probably the easiest way to get into SP is through hypnosis. A good hypnotic induction procedure will strip away almost all bodily awareness, leaving you as a point of consciousness suspended in space. I'm currently working on a hypnotic LD file and will post it in due course.

Reaching SP takes full concentration and complete focus you have to allow your mind to wonder. None of that complete thoughtless, emptiness , Zen state crap. The real deal is keeping yourself focused. It's not that easy for those who doesn't naturally experience it but this is a good way for those who are trying to reach it. Now the numbers are higher for people who experience Hypnagogic jerk reaction onset of sleep opposed to people who auto-recognize SP. You must use this as a gateway, it's easier to go through Hypnic to enter SP than a natural state. If you keep your mind awake right after Hypnic then your chances of SP are increased by well more than half.

And when you are successful and people ask you, "who told you that?"

Tell them, it was the Dream Doctor

Actually no I would never recommend Hypnosis. What I was mentioning is the onset muscle disruption or twitch that one experiences. It's almost like an internal device that is never taken advantage of and it needs to be utilized.

Actually, there's a much better way.

      1. Day one: Stay up till like 3:00 in the morning, then go to sleep and wake up at like 6 or 7.

      2. Day two: Now you will be really tired when you wake up. Go to sleep at normal time and you will sleep forever! Sleep in as long as you can (do this part on a weekend or something) so you can get as much sleep as you can.(at least 12 hours or something)

      3. Day three: When you do wake up you won't be able to go to sleep forever, which is el perfecto! Go to bed at normal time. Pick a comfy position and DONT MOVE. In maybe 15 to 25 minutes sleep paralysis will begin to take over!

      Viola.

I guess it's just a bunch of swirly colors, but you can see them as if they're actually there.
