i found out about lucid dreams yesterday, and i tried to attain a LD last night. I couldnt attain it because i didnt go to sleep for ages and was just too exausted. Before i try again tonight, do you sleep longer in the mornings after a LD and do you feel sick or anything in the morning? I go to high school, and dont wanna sleep in during the week, so should i only try this on the weekends?
One more quick question guys, i have some mp3 thats good to fall asleep to, but one part of the tape wakes you up, its there a tape or file that i can use to attain LD, and stay that way until i have to wake up?
Sorry if these questions are all jumbled up, im a bit of a noob at this new way of dreaming.
thanks alot guys!

You might spend some time reading the many excellent tutorials here. I also find it helpful to read the dream journals of others. You will likely find answers to all your questions and many you haven't even thought to ask yet there.

Experiences very widely, but it is very rare to achieve an LD on your first try. Learn a technique you like and start practicing it. Keep a dream journal and develop your dream recall. Spend time here reading and meeting folk who are good at it. Most importantly, have fun!

I don't know anybody who feels ill or needs additional sleep as a result of LDs, though they can be easier to achieve when you get extra sleep.

Hi there! Welcome!
Not to get you disappointed, but I have tried at least 100 times, over almost 2 years,
and still no go. Some people get it within a week or so, though.

I'm pretty sure being overexcited is one of the most common problem newer LD'ers
run in to. Im not really sure what you can do, but it will rub off in a little while.

Keep trying!

Ill get my first LD yet!

Firstly welcome to the forum .

Don't worry about not going lucid on the first try.

You should try every day and not just the week ends. Try to make "going lucid" a routine for you. I don't think you would lie-in that much anyway as long as you wake up about 3 hours before you usually would and try a WBTB method.

Hope this helps and good luck.

I disagree. I find that excitement only proves to make one wake up faster but helps to induce LDs as much as motivation does. BTW motivation increases your chances to LD by an infinate amount. I am, at athe moment, lacking both motivation and excitment due to my ever increasing focus on school and I haven't had an LD in a while. When I did have that motivation and excitement during the summer and first few weeks of school, I LDed a healthy amount.
My advise to you: Find something that you really want to do in a LD and concentrate on it. Your desire to reach your goal will get your subconcious into a mode where it will actually let you get it. Or you could find a person who LDs a lot (possibly on this forum), and get mad at him or her for doing so. Then try to chatch up with him or her. Although you might not ever catch up, you will certainly LD a lot.
Hope I helped
