      Hi there
I do like 5 or less RC's a week, so not sure why I did this.
I did my first EVER RC in a dream. I was looking in a mirror of some strange
bathroom i've never seen before, I looked EXACTLY like I do in real life, not distorted or
anything like people say. For some reason I decided to do an RC. I pinched my nose,
and breathed through it, while seeing me do the same thing in the mirror.
I breathed through my nose and I'm like 'thats a weird feeling...' I started to feel tingly
so I calmed down and said to myself 'lets save it for later', as in I would becom lucid
later. I have NO idea why I didn't just become lucid then. I might have been afraid of waking
up.. But I still didn't have the presence of mind to look at my surroundings and become lucid.

      Anyone have this happen?

Hm. That's too bad. It's strange how you reasoned that losing lucidity would be worse than attempting it. Did the dream fade after that? How vivid was it?

The one time I became lucid was similar... I just found myself standing in an small, dirty, empty room. I pinched my nose and breathed through it. At first I almost accepted it as normal, but quickly realized what was happening. I then kicked my legs up in the air and floated in the middle of the small room. When I landed, I noticed a door. I said to myself, "there WILL be a beautiful forest when I open the door." There was just a dirty, nasty hallway behind the door. I decided to try it again, but the LD faded into something else and I lost lucidity. It was hazy and I hardly even recognize it as being a LD.

what i found helps me is if u count it. like in one of my lds it was night time and i didnt want it to be so i tried changing it to day. It wouldnt work till i counted it off like this: the night will change to day in 3, 2, 1 after one it worked. It worked with making mt dew appearing on the table too.

I'll try that. I have a really hard time with dream control and that's something I've never tried before. I'll let you know if it works for me too.

Well I didn't take the effort to really take full realization of my surroundings,
and really just awaken mind, which would have happened (I think) by looking
around. I never got that feeling of realization like when you come aware or awake
from HI... Its kinda like the feeling of coming out of water, or like your 'zooming out'
and you suddenly become aware of everything around you...
ya its really hard to explain these things.. anyone know what i'm talking about?

sounds to me like you had a lucid dream, just probably on a scale of one to ten it would be around a one or a two. keep trying though, you'll get it.

yeah this has happened to me as well, but it doesn't have anything to do with " Deciding to become lucid "
Either the thought pops up " hey, this is a dream or it doesn't " Even if you do a RC and it fails, or maybe you didn't react to the fact it was a dream.

You were lucid but you went with the flow. It's about control here, not " saving lucidity "
so in fact you were lucid maybe very low lvl of lucidity but if you said to yourself kinda " This is adream i'm lucid " then you were
      Lucid, my way of life.

See the thing about RCing is that you already have to be semi-lucid to perform one properly.

If you do 25 RCs everyday, these will continue into your dreams, and even though something odd might happen, chances are you won't even give a second thought to them if you don't give them a second thought in real-life.

I've have a few DILDs where I pulled off succesful RCs (actually my RC success rate in a dream is 100%), but it always goes like this:

      - "Hm... somethings not right. What if this is a dream?" [already considering the possibility of my environment being a dream before I even do a RC, greatly increases the chances of a RC success]
      - Pinch my noise a breathe - "Yes! It is a dream!" [no doubts or second guessing because I was already in that kind of lucid prepared "mind-set"]

Yes, I can understand that. You became lucid, but you became distracted whilst in the dream. When you realise you're dreaming, clear your mind straight away.
      10 LDs and counting
