Last night, for the first time, I almost had a WILD. I wasn't even trying to. I was just lying in bed just spacing out and letting my mind wander, when I began to feel numb and tingly. The only problem is, as soon as this happened I started to get very itchy and I couldn't focus. So, any thoughts?

You sound like you were getting there. It would have been better to scratch at your itches to get them out of the way so that they don't bother you. Then just go back to trying to WILD.

I did scratch at the itches, but that's what made me lose my focus.

yeah me too. Can you prescribe what it was like to almost WILD? what you saw/heard/felt? I have had these Near-WILD experiences too, but I can't be arsed to open another Topic over my almost WILD-experiences so I hope you don't you Mind if I ask some Questions for myself in this Thread too .

The last 3 nights or so I have had a Sudden Regaining of Consciousness when I was ALMOST asleep and already in a very deep Hypnagogic state. I was kinda sinking deeper and deeper and slowly my Consciousness decreased up to the Point where my Mind's Thoughtprocess was Wandering wildly and so was my Visual Imagination. I suddenly Saw a room before me. it looked like my Living room in warm earthly colors. I was so deep that my Consciousness was so low that I almost didn't realise I was half-dreaming already, but SUDDENLY I snapped out of it. I must have regained consciousness because I suddenly thought: '' a room? WTF? That can't be! I am in my BED!'' That's why I remembered the deep Hypnagogic state for a second because soon afterwards my consciousness decreased again and I fell asleep unconscious anywayz. I guess this happens every night and this was one of the few nights I was Conscious enough to observe it and remember it. I only remembered it the next evening after dinner time.

Does anyone know an effective way of maintaining consciousness at a waking consciousness level easier? Or perhaps a way to induce the deep Hypnagogic state and thus the Dream faster, while still rather conscious?

I simply felt tingly and numb. I could hear my air conditioner, but the volume of it seemed to fade up and down. I didn't see anything except darkness.

I think I had the same thing, but then I tested the paralysis and came out of it.

      Silly really.

I think you're supposed to focus only on one thing, like imagining you're riding a bike or something, aren't you?

Funny you just started this Topic. Not too long before it was started I started having very vivid Memorable Dreams again with Semi-Lucidity in them. Also I had the idea that the last 3 or 4 nights I have yet again Almost succesfuly WILDed. Let me tell you what I experienced while Trying to WILD last night. I wasn't even trying that hard to WILD but this is what happened:

It seems that my lucidity is slowly returning to me and my Dream Recall and Clearity in Dreams seems to increase day by day. Sometimes my Consciousness seems to increase and then I usually have most Lucid Dreams. Seems like Lucid Dreams are right around the corner. They're Semi-Lucid Now, but I see that as a Sign of Improvement after having had such a long DrySpell. My Recall and DreamVividness have really improved alot. I also manage quite well to stay Conscious longer before falling asleep unconscious anyway. It lead me to experience very Deep Hypnagogic Pre-Dream States with lots of Visual Hallucinations very Consciously: Conscious enough so I can remember them.

I had a very grizzly, hyperreal pre-dream hypnagogic hallucination last night. while slowly falling asleep I saw a good friend of mine. He was lying/sitting on my bed and I stood before him slightly bent over him to see his face. I looked down on him and especially saw his face; Which looked almost REAL! Amazing it was. But as he slowly turned his face's right side toward me I saw it was all bloody and bruised and his right eye was all bloodshot and red. Terribly intense Fear suddenly Struck me like exactly like it would in a bad dream and I quickly snapped out of it thinking: ''I need need not to fear my own Visual Imagination. I am safe in Bed.'' I have never experienced SUCH a vivid, hyperreal Hypnagogic hallucination that Consciously before. I stayed conscious a little longer but then fell asleep unconscious afterall.

But more and more nights I seem to reach this very deep Visual/Emotional hypnagogic pre-dreaming state Consciously. I think I am making progress with WILDing. I just need to be able to stay Conscious a little longer I feel.

and PS: I agree on this: Itch is a bitch. I can sometimes ''think'' Itch away, but some itches really need to be scratched and when I do I loose most of my progress. Does anyone know what to do with Itch? or how to reduce it from appearing? Balms? a skintemperature Shower? anything?
