From the symtoms you describe (brief rushing noises, pressure on your head), you are very close to SP. The difference in SP is that these rushing noises and pressures are constant or consistant. Before SP, they sort of seem to come in inconsistant waves. This could be the brain checking to see if you are asleep, because if you were, you wouldn't notice these symtoms, so your heart rate, your excitement levels, they would not change.
This morning I tried a WILD, succeeded, but lost lucidity within like 15 seconds (don't know why), regained lucidity later on as a DILD, but I was into the whole dream scene that even though I knew I was dreaming, I was still going along with what was going on, and then lost lucidity again :(
Xan, do you sleep with your mouth open or closed? And Wolffe is your breathing rate going up while you attempt the WILD?
