Yes and no. I'm never completely away. It's about balance between sleep and awake as you asked above. This mght vary from person to person, but it's best that you find this out yourself what exactly is the best balance is for you. It just comes with trial and error. Once you fid the "sweetspot" you'll just automatically start to maintain that awareness attempt after attempt.

And it's not just SP that brings me back to full waking conciousness. Sometimes I'll just randomly come back to full waking concious. Like I'll be off in my fantasy, and all of a sudden I'll think "I'm trying to WILD" and then mometarly come out of it, lift m head of my pillow, look around for like 2 seconds, and then go back to the attempt. Sometimes there are rushing noises before SP. You might be sleeping (and fully concious at the same time) and sort of hear "fffFFFFFFFFfff.............fFFFFFfffff......" I'm not sure if this is just me with tinnitus (I do have this slightly - I cannot stand complete quiteness sometimes), but it does sound like air rushing, which I've heard before and during SP before. This sound does not always lead to SP. I heard it last night when going to sleep, maintained it for a awhile, then lost conciousness. I've never succeeded in WILD when going to bed at night or in the afternoon, WBTB is the only method I've been able to get to work for me. For people who try this at night - keep in mind that you regularly don't dream for the first two hours or so of sleep. So SP normally will not kick in, a lucid probably won't begin, etc. This is why it is soooooooo hard to do at night when going to sleep. It's possible to dream without deep sleep first, but that usually only happens after laying in bed restless for hours before you finally fall asleep.

Oh and I tried meditating yesterday, I was focusing on my breathing. Then 5 minutes went by the snap of a finger but I ended up being submerged in HI Pretty hard but I think I'll try to pick this up (if I have the time)

i checked back right when i felt this rushing feeling, not like a free fall or a rollercoaster but somthing around those lines. I just tried to ignore it and play out more images in my head. i felt another one of those rushing feelings a few min later[/b]
Right on. That's exactly what happens to me. Except I usually end up in SP I sometimes wait for vibrations, or if they don't come after like a minute, I'll still manually beign my dream by rolling off my bed (not really physically rolling!&#33.
