      Hi,

I've had this weird problem the last week - I go to bed, stay focused, manage to indulge mild sleep paralysis, concentrating, etc.. and then suddenly, it's morning. I've never had any trouble falling asleep without noticing before, but now it's like I cease to exist for six hours.

I tried the blinking technique yesterday, everything went fine and then... bom. Morning.

Why could this be happening? What can I do to stop it? I got plenty of sleep this weekend, so I don't think it's exhaustion.

      Any views?

Hmm sounds like you sleep too Deep to Consciously experience and remember dreams.

Possible causes for sleeping TOO deep are:
-Sleep Deprivation; going to bed while you hardly had any sleep the Nights before
-SleepMedications/Calmatives/Narcotics/Alcohol/Mariuana; All Depressants really: These make you zonk off way too deep in a Comatic sleep with little or no dreaming sleep.
-Sleeping in a room temperature that is so warm that it really makes you dull and slow.

BTW, I have the same ''BAM! it's morning effect''. Seems like No time at all passed between closing my eyes for over half an hour and Waking up the next morning.

Only I remember my Dreams very acurately lately. It's like I experienced about 5 hours of Many mad Dream Experiences in the Split Seconds that seemed to have passed between sleeping and waking. Like 5 hours ''experience'' Compressed into what seemed like a Split second. Strange. Very Strange. That's what I like about Dreaming. Such a Mad mystery.

I have the same problem, totally! Except I never really remembered falling asleep in the first place. And I get plenty of sleep...

I think it's all in how quickly you fall asleep; how long does it take you?

I used to feel the same way. I even told people about how I felt when I was sleeping (before I knew about lucid dreaming, dream recall, et cetera).

On occasion I would remember a dream or two, but they would be long and pretty vivid. Probably once a month at most. Then I came across this site and immediately became fascinated by dreams and all things relating to them.

Every since that day, I haven't had the same feeling of ceasing to exist while I sleep. I may not remember my dreams, but I in a way sense them.

My suggestion is to give it a few days, spend some decent amount of time on dreamviews. Read a few interesting posts. Keep practicing. Eventually you'll start to have some dreams, or parts of dreams. You need to write them down.

Thanks for the replies! I think SKA may have a point about the temperature; it's too warm where I sleep. I'll try lowering the thermostat this evening and see how it goes.

It really freaks me out as I've never experienced anything like it before. Hopefully it'll pass!

I turned down the temperature yesterday, slept in about 15-16 degree celsius I think, worked wonderfully. Thanks SKA!

I've experienced the same problem lately. Very deep sleep with little fragmented dream recall. Today I took vitamins before sleep and remembered more.

Hehe, maybe it's temperature, but most likely it's a *government conspiracy* ! Teh evil government is broadcasting some kind of evil radio waves that deny people their ability to lucidly dream! Everyone - put on your tinfoil hats!
