I'm just wondering about a new idea I had

Well I got the idea from last night, when I was watching Band of Brothers.
I was well into, but I had recorded it and I was watching it at like 1:30 in the morning. I tried to keep awake, and each time I nodded off thinking of things, and pictures almost formed, but they were things non-relevant to the show. I finally go to sleep, I wake up half-asleep (literally), then nod back into sleep, and a helment and stuff starts forming. So I'm like "cool. I always wanted to know how the war was like and stuff." even though the dream could have been scary (ya know, I guess subconsciously I could have been afraid). But after I see a helment *Fade* I go out.

Here's the thing: is this my subconscious working both for me/against me?
I mean, I went to sleep viewing this WWII show, almost had a WWII dream, but then it fades, possibly due to my "unknown fears".

I'm going to try an experiment tonight. Stay up really late, watch another part of the series, and go to sleep while watching it. My hypothesis is that I will dream about this stuff.

Has this stuff been proven to induce lucid dreams or anything? Because I want to try it with some of my dreamsigns too. (computers and stuff)

Oh yeah, and any other info on the subconscious and stuff? I'm kind of intrigued here...

My guess is - you wont see exactly the same show. Only few elements will make it into your dreams.

For example - recently I've seen "saving private ryan". Guess what? I've expected something similar to happen in my dreams .
No luck. All I got was 2 weird tanks, invading my lucid dream (bad for them )

And today I got a war dream about me + group of soldiers fighting enemies. We had a tank and they had dugouts and stuff... In the end I was the last guy alive....
And those guns were damn realistic..

Dreams are definately vaguely linked by what happened during your day, especially just before you fall asleep. The other night, I was watching "Nightmare on Elm Street: Part 2". Guess what, I had a dream that I was getting chased around by the killer from "Scream".

Makes me wish I had a "Dream machine" in which I could program extremely realistic and vivid dreams...*mouth waters*

Everyone has a 'dream machine'... It just takes a while to learn how to use it...

I suppose in a more abstract view that's pretty true, but I was thinking of like 20 years from now with little bead-sized machines that sit on your lobes pumping waves to your brain in different patterns to make you lucid. All you have to do is set what kind of dream you want (adventure, sexual, action, powerful, etc. the more pronounced ones) and there....mmmm....
