The void is something you experience during sleep paralysis sometimes, or sometimes when your dream fades away into blackness but you don't wake up immediatly.

Sometimes when I 'wake up' from a dream (usually a lucid one), I'm in a sort of void, where I can't move, hear, taste, smell or see. This is sleep paralyzation. You're able to start a lucid dream using this to your advantage. Just relax, and intent to enter a lucid dream, I think. I only got in a dream once after the void, but that wasn't lucid. I didn't even think about starting a dream, I just tried to think of nothing. So I guess you'll be lucid if you just intent to become lucid aswell.
      Sure, why not?
