you don't need sp to wild, some get it others don't. same with hi, its not needed to succeed at wild. keeping you mind aware is mostly all that is required for wild.

I have sort of the same problem-- when my mind is awake, it seems that my body can't turn itself off (sleep). When waking after many hours of sleep, how long does it take most of you to go back to sleep through the WILD method?

Also, when images/sounds do start slipping in, it seems that I get sucked into falling asleep without awareness. I'll start seeing images and I'll focus on keeping them/paying attention to them, and then I'll get caught up in them and forget what I'm trying to do.

When I catch myself doing this, I "awaken" my mind once again, but then the HI usually disappears. How can I keep an awakened mind while still letting it produce imagery?

      Thanks

You are looking at this whole thing wrong... I will point out where you are having problems.

First thing is, it takes much longer than only 15 minutes. Some people have to wait for more than 1 hour... you have to give it a lot longer than 15 minutes.

And "looking" for HI is going to make it come less. Sometimes you don't even see HI.

Sleep paralysis is definitly necessary for WILD, btw. But you experience it... but just not conciously. You have to stay up for longer than 15 minutes. That is your problem. Sometimes it doesn't even come for more than 1-2 hours.

hi odds: the WILD method usually does not kick in... as i have not found a way to KEEP IT AWAKE! any tips?

and odds... to keep awake at that stage of your WILD session you have to watch the HI from a zoned out perspective.. like you are an observer. dont focus on what you are "Trying to do," as it is counterproductive.

also, i have heard doing maths or "writing" in your imagination helps.

my problem... i just fall asleep! i think i will try Reverse Blinking.

as most others have said, you'll need to be awake for a lot longer. sometimes you may not notice it. I often slip into lucidity w/o SP and wake up unable to move. And as for the HI, just let it come to you
