Hi, this is my technique which I have developed over some time which I thought I would just share to see what others thought of it. It's more of a technique in shapeshifting after going lucid but what I have found is that when you practise this technique alot in lucid dreams you then start to do it naturally in normal dreams, which can then trigger you into going lucid because you are aware from the impossible action done.

Anyway this is what I call my Running technique.. its pretty simple but pretty cool and I hope its not something that is common knowledge... if it is please forgive because I'm new here. hehe

First up you have to be able to lucidly dream first.

Then when you find yourself in a lucid dream, start to run. Run as fast as you can until your at full speed, then quickly drop your hands down and place them on the ground and keep running. You kinda pull the ground with your nails to push/pull youself forward even quicker. Its a very strange feeling and its almost like you are running up hill because you can really feel the nails pulling the dirt.

Anyway at that stage I tend to find myself usually fully shifted or semi naked with paws..(I used to shift into the wolf but now I shift into the lion). So yeah thats pretty much how I shapeshift.. I've also shifted into a crocodile and a great white shark too but they were kinda different.. more from the flick of the tail.

Anyway now what I've found is that after making myself shift in lucid dreams inorder to run, I tend to now run in normal dreams on all fours. Which then usually triggers me into going lucid. Sometimes it doesnt because I'm getting used to it but generally as soon as I find myself running I find myself shifted. And then I go lucid. Its like I've made my mind know that to run faster you run on all fours, so now in normal dreams I tend to run that way which then makes me aware.

      Works for me

sounds pretty interesting and defenately worth a try. i've only had one lucid so far, but i'm thinking my next one i'll probably try something along the lines of shapeshifting. it sounds really cool.

do you have any "shape" suggestions for a first timer?

Cool. Whenever I am running in a dream, it always seems faster if I use all 4 limbs. It's pretty crazy, I run faster mimicking an ape. I've never shape shifted, just ran on all 4's.
      I sleep to dream.

Wow, I'll try that on my first real lucid dream. The only other technique I know of is to imagine a machine but this sounds like its worth a shot, especially if it causes more lucid dreams to happen.

      Thanks,

BTW, that's interesting that it starts happening in normal dreams to. What do you shapeshift into during your normal dreams?

I'm glad you's like the sound of my technique.. I've been wanting for someone else to try it to see how others go because its great fun hey. And I find myself now just running sometimes already shifted which is a real bonus because it triggers lucidity although you do tend to get more animal minded I've found. Which can make it almost a semi lucid dream or something.

In regards to picking a form to shift into.. I guess that is really a presonal thing and would say just shift into whats in your heart or just what comes naturally at the time. Like I very first shifted into a tiny fish when I dove into a very small stream of water once, which then took me to the caribbean. It was just an impluse thing and I shrunk fully down to this tiny little fish because of the amount of water I dove into.

Running like an ape sound funny. And your right about it feeling faster to use all four to run with.. to me it feels so much faster, and I think thats apart of why I dream of running like that now in non lucid dreams. I think my mind just knows that it is faster or something now because I become aware after the fact that I've shifted. It was funny once because I even dreamt that I was trying to teach someone to run in a dream and then because I was running I went lucid. It was really weird. I then stopped and looked at myself to see what I was, and I was a lion. I had a tail and everything. Then I went for a more conscious run and I could really feel the difference in being a lion from being the wolf because it was the first time I had shifted into the lion. I had like been running around in lucid dreams as a wolf on and off for about 10 years and now it seems like my dream.. guides have given me the lion form instead. Its kinda a long story.

When I first started to learn to lucid dream(I was about 17), I started to get pretty good at it and sometimes I would have the odd nightmare. It was always me running through a forest with some creature after me. Anyway I was lucid dreaming really well and I started to think about how to use the fear to trigger me into going lucid. I started to tell myself that I would go lucid and face the creature in the forest and not be afraid etc etc. Anyway months later and after lots more practise and the odd nightmare I finally had a nightmare where I went fully lucid. ! Basically it was this huge werewolf thing that had me pinned at the end of a jetty which is when I went lucid. As it ran to attack me I reached behind my back and pulled out two uzi's and shot it. Then as it was still running I pulled out this big chinese spear and kinda pinned its neck very briefly before I sidestepped and cut its head off with my katana. Now I know that sounds pretty full on but I was doing alot of martial arts then and it just flowed so well(I had been practising moves in lucid dreams lots). Anyway when I looked in the water at its head it was a females and it went human. I know that sounds corny but yeah..

So I was left the next morning with this wonderful knowledge of finally slaying this creature but because I'd seen that it was a shapeshifter, it made me think about trying to shift which is just what I did the next time I went lucid. Because I didnt know how to really shift I just did like outta the movies and went that way which works too but its more aggressive kinda.

Anyway I then spent a few years just shifting into the werewolf and sometimes shifting into the vampire just to try out some flying techniques. But after awhile I started to run instead because I basically wanted to try out something new. I learned that when I ran and put my hands down I fully shifted into the wolf and not just this standing wolf thing. Then when I shifted into the normal wolf I found that it was a more relaxing feeling. So I started to just run in lucid dreams to fully shift because it was happy feeling of joy over one of aggression.

Anyway at the start of this year I had a dream that I was placed into a huge lion which was in heaven (believe it or not)and the rainbow above him came down into me and were serpents. I had a green serpent on my right arm and a red one on my left which were very loving and alive! It was a really weird but very cool dream because it made me know that I was given the lion. So the next time I went lucid I dreamt I was dreaming of teaching someone my running technique and thats how I went lucid to see that I was indeed a lion now. So my technique worked too! hehe.. So it was like the dreams built up the form kinda. And now I keep finding myself as a lion but I dont tend to run as much it seems, I tend to walk more in a relaxed fashion now which is really nice.

Oh man that was alot to type. I need a rest. lol

I hope some of that is helpful. Basically think of what you want to be when you run I guess, and if you swim do the same but stick your feet together to make the tail, to then flick to make you fully shift.

It certainly is not common knowledge!

I think the advantage of this technique will be that you don't need anything but yourself to do it. Also anything which creates blur (like spinning around on the spot) is a powerful transformation device, and also increases Lucidity, so this is definitely worth a try.

      I'll report back results!

There is actually a name for this kind of dream (which I don't remember, anyone know?). Its an epic dream, always with bright primary colours and often features metaphysical archetypes (the lion, the serpant, the rainbow). The fact that your serpents were "loving" is a very good thing, because it means that you are interfacing very comfortably with the deepest parts of your subconscious - which is probably why you're a natural in the first place.

Its powerful dream to have - you sound like a great dreamer!

Sounds like a very cool technique, Kazahel Thanks for sharing. I don't think I've ever been able to shapeshift or morph into anything - lucid or not. For some reason, that degree of control is hard for me. I'm more of a flier when I get the chance.

But I definitely want to try this. It reminds me of being an Animagus like in Harry Potter (yes, I'm a huge HP nerd). Should I have an idea of what I want to morph into before I start, or just go with the flow?

BTW, I'm excited to see you a part of this community - it sounds like you've got a lot of knowledge and information to bring to the community. It's always nice when experienced LDer's find us.

When I shape shifted, I thought of what I wanted to be then looked at a mirror. It worked but I've only tried it once so it could have been an one-off thing. Either way its worth a try for people.

Yeah I'm dying for someone else to try it because Ive found it works really well, I've just never found anyone else to give it a real test run yet so I'd love to hear how others go. It's good I guess to have some idea of what to be before hand.. like pick your favorite animal or whatever so you shift easier, or you could just run and then see what you become maybe. You just gotta almost think the creature as you move into it. Like once I dreamt that I was a crocodile swimming in the river and I was coming up behind this soldier who was crawling out of the water. I instantly went semi lucid and quickly swam up and dragged him in. Then because I was pretty lucid but was in this funny crocodile hunting mode, I knew that I had to shift into a better creature so I swam into deeper water and placed my feet together and flicked them while thinking 'shark' for only a moment before I was a fully shifted into a great white shark. It was really cool and really easy and was just a matter of brief thinking with abit of mermaid tail kinda movement. Its like a snowball effect anotherwords and once you start to trigger the shift the rest it seems to flow quickly.

It was cool being a shark and the main thing I remember was moving super powerfully and having a really big mouth, which I actually tested out and got food stuck in it which is why I had to shake my head really fast like how you see sharks do. Its not because they are mad or aggressive... its just because they get their food stuck in their teeth! hehe. imo

So yeah just have a go and think positive because it helps in the shifting to know you can do it. But running for me helped the most to fully shift into a land animal.

I went lucid last night and ran again to shift.. which was the first for alittle while in shifting(like without finding myself shifted before going lucid). I was just on a nice smooth grey road which was slightly winding and going over slight green hills. It was a nice area with no one around at all. Anyway I went lucid and ran and it was a kinda funny shift because after running and putting my hands down I found myself shift to lions paws but they couldnt run... like my paws didnt do the galloping feel like usual. I couldnt time it or something and I ended up almost falling over on the road. So I stood up and roared and streched my mouth really wide to kinda feel it, which was weird because I was half shifted with like a lions mouth(I couldnt see the rest of my head only feel the mouth)so I decided to jump like how the Hulk does because thats a pretty cool way to move too so I started to bound down the road. lol

It was only a quick lucid dream but it was pretty cool. Nothing really triggered me either, I just said to myself quickly before bed that it would be nice to have a lucid dream so I could run. I dreamed that one in my first dream too I think because it took me until lunch time today to remember it. I'm just happy I did though. lol

But yeah anyway.. the shift worked but I kinda tripped over which made me a standing lion, not a fully shifted one. It was still pretty cool though.
