Upon awakening, immediately write your dreams down. Even if it's in the middle of the night. Also, when doing a reality check, REALLY do it. Check your hands for example, but also investigate your environment. Try to look out for weird stuff. Also, always realize that you could in a dream right now. Dreams can be so realistic...
      Sure, why not?

h,and another question: would it be effective if i did like 50 RCs while in bed before falling asleep and i kept askin myself during that time if i am dreaming? or would it have the efectiveness of only one RC?

that is a good idea.. i have never had luck with DILD but it seems that if you do like 50 RCs, you are effectively putting your mind in the "lucid dreaming" thought phase.. meaning that your subconcious keeps the RCs in mind, right as you sleep. try it; it cant hurt.

Unless your RC is to pinch/slap yourself like mine is.

But wait, why look at your hands?

i guess that COULD be effective if that is the last thing you think of before falling asleep. it can't hurt i guess.

btw, the slap/pinch reality check is the worst fucken reality cliche check ever... All that will happen is in a dream you'll think "ouch that shit hurt. Definitly not dreaming" You CAN feel pain in dreams.

Oh. Heh. The DV tut said it was a plausable RC. So I should probably drop it.

hold your nose and breathe in. thats like the best rc ever. and to answer your question, i think that your idea would be a good one if you did it with a wbtb.

      skuruza:

Yes this does help (mainly for WBTB, but is also useful for DILD I guess)
The trick is to reality check as much as possible, then when you lay down to sleep continue to reality check every time you think "could I be dreaming right now?" (don't depend on all those past reality checks). Continue RCing until you pass out (into sleep)

That way your mind stays in the "I could be dreaming" state

Also, remember to always put deep intention into your RCs (don't just pinch your nose passively trying to breathe over and over, actually examine your surroundings and stuff every time you reality check)
      .

wait, but how can i do the stuff until i fall asleep/ i mean i cant fall asleep doing stuff like tryin to poke my finger through my hand and thinking if i am dreaming or not. to fall asleep i gotta relax, not move and let my thoughts flow.

Yeah sorry for the confusion, I answered another of your topics with basically the same question so:

All I meant was that if (after you lay down to sleep) you suddenly think "whoa, could I be dreaming right now?" you should do a reality check.
You don't necessarily have to do reality checks over and over after you get into bed.

but what i am asking is: would it be more effective if i did a ton of reality checks?

      Yes it would be.

just don't forget that you should still be reality checking throughout the day as well
