I personally love the nose one, works so well.

If you need to do it in a more subtle way, make an uncleanched fist, and place it over your mouth, with the bottom of you index finger covering your nostrils. Then do the RC. It looks like you are just deep in thought

LOL... My first Lucid Dream included myself walking through walls. So I decided to have an RC that included me trying to walk through a wall. So as I would do it, most time (if im not dreaming) I would walk into the wall. I didnt think it was such a big deal, im walking into a wall, soo what?. So people would just stare at me, after I realized how many people would stare, I had to stopped. It was embarrasing.

Do you wear a watch? Perhaps you can do some not-so-obvious RCs. Try wearing a watch and RC with it. Or perhaps do various RCs when you arnt around too many people -- such as in the bathroom (wounder what kind of RCs you could do there.. ); if you work on a computer, try reality-checking that. Just make sure no collegules are around to see you typing in text, turning you're back, then double-checking to see if it's there.

Nah, i have never worn a watch really. i keep my cellphone with me though, i could check that then look away and check if the time is still the same.

Do you know what your learning mode is? i.e. Visual, Auditory, Kinesthetic? I've started a research project here with a link to an on-line VAK test (takes 2mins). I could help you find a subtle one but I think it would be useful to tailor it for your learning mode.

Attempting to push your finger through the palm of your other hand is fairly subtle.

This one that i sticked to is worse...

I had a girl at school that i liked very much and I often dreamed about her. I said everytime i saw her "Am I dreaming or awake?", but soon it started to feel rather embarassing and inconvenient to say that line while in the food queue while the girl i liked standed only a few meters away from me, so I changed to the nose RC and it's fairly subtle. It looks like my nose is itching and I've got to scratch it
