The passed three nights i have tried FILD, two nights i woke up for a split second hit snooze and started, all i remember is tapping like 10 times then, im sleeping. The bad thing is that i keep waking up during rem (Due to alarm clock to try FILD) and i know it, But i dont want to take the time and write dreams down becuase you have to immidiatily go into the FILD techniqe, problem is after i fell alseep and woke back up my DR was erased completily becuase i fell back asleep trying FILD. So in my quest for FILD i have lost recall the passed three nights, i only remember tryind FILD two times though, the 3rd time i just woke up in the morning, i dont even remember ever turning my alarm off. Anyway, tonight im going to stop at 8taps (seconds) and do my RC, i hope by the end of nextweek ill get this technique down, its so simple. Please if FILD has worked for you and your reading this let me know. As of now theres only a few people i know of on this forum that use it. This weekend im going to attempt FILD after hitting snooze, and if i just fall alseep when my alarm wakes me up again ill stay up for a while then try WILD. Also, wouldnt a FILD be the easy way out? Meaning, your only up for a second so your brain isnt as active as a WILD forinstance when you are awake for a while, meaning it must not be as intense as a wild? whatever, its somewere to start.

FILD's like the quick and easy way to try and have an LD. Id say try something else. FILD never worked for me.

I tried FILD last night, and I guess that it somewhat worked. I woke up in the middle of the night during REM. I quickly turned off my alarm and tried to tap my fingers. I started to count, but then remembered that I shouldn't. After like 20 seconds, I did a nose RC, but was not in a dream. I was going to try a WILD, but instead tried to fall asleep while moving my fingers because I read somewhere that it kept a part of the brain awake and helped for lucids or something. It gave me a lucid dream, so I am incredibly happy.

I will try it again tonight and post the results. I am not sure if it will work though, because when I wake up, I become to awake for some reason.

I tried using FILD a couple nights ago. I didn't realize it was supposed to work within 20-30 seconds. I tapped my fingers for about 2 minutes but then my eyes started going crazy. I suppose this is the REM period. It was getting so intense that i had to stop. If I had stuck it out a little longer, would I have had a LD? I've read a lot about FILDs and no one has mentioned their eyes going wacko.

Sounds like you started to Wild or something...weird it normally takes alot longer then that, im no expert but it sounds like you were in REM. Anyway, hit ur alarm clock then start, (litarily a few seconds after you wake up) it should only take like 10 seconds supposabily.

My alarm clock did not wake me up last night, so I couldn't try FILD.

FILD worked amazingly for me the first night I tried it. Got three lucids in one night! Woo! Unfortunately all except one lasted less than 10 seconds.

I find that if I just imagine the feeling of slipping into sleep (hard to explain what it is exactly, but it makes my head feel different) then I fall asleep in 10 seconds or less. Then all I have to do is wait for SP to kick in, do an RC, and I'm lucid dreaming!

Some techniques work better for others for different people. Personally, I can't WILD at all but FILD works perfectly. Maybe if you can't get FILD working in a couple of weeks, focus on a different technique.
