      Thumbs up

Iv'e been doing the plug your nose RC for quite a while but i never do it in my dream. I have this thaught that might be the problem. i only do the RC when my watch makes this beeping noise (indicating it's been a hour) but when i go to sleep i take off my watch. but its still by my bed. can this be a problem perhaps?

Well if your watch still beeps and you can hear it then its great ; if the watch is too far away you might not hear it, if the beeping pitch is too low you might not hear it as well, because when you're in deepsleep your unlikely to hear low pitched sounds, just try and ask yourself "Am I dreaming?" Everynow and then , try and make that a 2nd nature of yours, sometimes nose RC's fails in dreams (for me anwyays).

Reality checks shouldn't be a bother or a forced action. The concept of a "habit" implies that you do it of your own will. Be it by intrigue or enjoyment - become interested in dreams. Keep reading about dreaming, lucid dreaming, the experiences and dream journals people post here. You'll surely find yourself intrigued by the concept naturally soon enough and that's when the effect from reality checks and being suspicious of your state will come about of your own will.

although i've olny been trying to LD since Nov. i've felt the same change in my attitude towards RC's. they used to be a pain to do and i only remembered to do them a few(1-2) times a day, but now i't a fun game i play all the time. any time i see something that reminds me of any of my dreams or anything close to my dreams from the night before i do a RC in a playful manner expecting to be dreaming. my RC of choice is to read a word on something , look away or cover it w/ my hand, then reread it. i'm not sure how many people use this but it works 99% of the time for me(i've had about 30-40 LD's in three months). some times the words change just a bit (ex. house will change to holne), and some times it does really cool shit, like two nights ago a can i read had a four letter word on it and the first letter turned into a tiny strawberry. CLARK your watch alarm reminds me of the red lights LaBerge uses sometimes to help inducing LD's

I do the plug-nose-and-breath RC all the time, but I don't think I've ever used it successfully while dreaming. Whenever I DILD it's because I try to put my fingers through my hand, that works a lot better for me. Try experimenting with other types of RCs, since that one doesn't seem to be working.
