Attempting WILDs is a fun process but I am still stuck. -So Passive Awareness is the key phrase here. Im reading lots about concentrating on our breathing, the ringing in ears, counting, but does this make us too aware so Paralysis will never come??. I love all the advice I've been reading and searching thru, there are so many techniques to induce the paralysis and induce the lucid dreaming, Im hoping people can provide more tips here.
--Such as, to keep a passive awareness, would it be better to think of some good memories while at the same time keep checking back in on ourselves.. Is focusing on our breathing too much so we will never fall into the sleep.?. Jus hoping for some good tips on making WILD a little easier to come by. Thanks dreamers*

Trick is to get your body asleep (by relaxing and not moving) whilst keeping your mind awake (by focussing on something). The focussing won't stop you falling asleep, the relaxing might stop you focussing (the mind wanders). The tutorials work for most people eventually - trust them! If you keep trying and it still doesnt work then come back and ask for more help.

BTW personally I never seek, nor really experience paralysis (even though its undoubtedly there) when wilding because I am focussing on constructing a solid dreamscape.

      Good Luck

thank you i hope I have good luck too.-.
I can get my body feeling numb and in full relax mode, i Start to feel disconnected from my body and a spinning sensation. After that I stay stuck because I don't know where to direct my mind attention..The paralysis comes over me at this point do I continue focusing on deep breathing??
I understand this is different for everyone I hope Im not offending if i make a separate topic bout this, ive been reading thru the topics many times getting a strategy down. I'll try completely forgetting about the breathing and the ear noise and jus truly focus on my imagination & dreamscapes. As i start to feel more physical sensations- i come back for a moment from my scape to check on my signs,,,
this passive awareness is amazingly fun to get good at yet it requires patience & practice lots..--

I'm just a begginer, but here is some tips that helped me achieve a WILD once:

.If you start to think, just say to yourself, "this is just a though" and forget about it.

.You must stop your internal voice, this is the hard, but quickly induce HI and vibrations (for me). The tip is the follow: When you are awake, and hear a noise, you should have noticed that your internal voice stop because your mind is "waiting" for an external event (another noise of the same kind in this case). I use the the same with HI, I put my mind "waiting" on the HI, this is very efficient for me. Tell me if it's not clear because this point is really important.

.When you see HI, don't concentrate on your body, breathing, etc... You must forget it and just be a "soul". Your "soul" can easily go in the dream universe, not your physical body.

.Find a point of light in the HI that seems really far, and imagine that your going to "transport" to this point. You should have the feeling that your a passing through a tunnel.

.After the "tunnel" (or whatever happens), if you suddently wake up, do a RC. You should be dreaming that you wake up.

.Don't be frustreted because you fail at one point. Think about why you failed, then you will be able to go a step further.

Hope it will helps and happy dreaming.

Yes different strokes for different folks. I have a theory about learning modes (Visual, Kinesthetic, Auditory) and LD induction. See this post.

If you are strongly K I think focussing on your breathing, or seeking SP should work fine (until the thing happens&#33

If you are strongly V I would go for watching the hypnagogic imagery (in a detached but alert kinda way) or as, I mentioned, my own preference is to visualise strongly a dream scene (mainly because I learnt it trying to get back into particularly good dreams after waking). Build it and build, it brick by brick, or leaf by leaf if necessary. At a certain point the scene becomes very lucid and I can walk into it. I'm KVA (strongly K&V) or even VKA, depending on the test...

Don't know much about A types - its rarer. But perhaps, for WILD, counting or reading aloud works best? Or maybe MILD (with the affirmations made out aloud?) works better, or audio methods?
