You're going to get two types of replies

1.) It takes a long time and a lot of practice for some people, don't give up!

      or

2.) That sucks, thanks for sharing

if you call not having a lucid dream a failure then it will be very difficult to do. and what your recall like if its not up to 2,3, or 4 a night then it might take some more time and effort. Do you have a dream journal? stick with it and talk to some of the experianced people on the site

I myself am pretty frustrated on my own progress. But, it may be easier to just accept the invevitability that LD might be much harder for some people. I know that I've not been smooth with my progress. I'm pretty sure that my wanting it so much is getting in the way. It's not a good idea to try to LD at the expense of enjoying waking-life.

I am a neophyte lucid dreamer; in fact, I really cannot say anything more since I have only had one LD-- however intense that experience was. I had no intention of percolating into an awareness of myself in a dream state, yet it occurred effortlessly. I did not practice or set LD as a goal. I did not plan an itinerary once I attained self-awareness in a dream. So, really, I have no guidance to suggest beyond: Perhaps if the mind is ready to slough off the 'desolation of forgetfulness', it will of its own accord?

Yeah, I've only had one lucid dream and I've been recording my dreams for several months now.

School's almost out, so I'll be able to be less stressed and hopefully have some lucid dreams!

      Don't give up!

      Your not strange.

      Your just damn lucky.

      Envy...

You'll grow out of it some day. Just like I did. And then you'll know the need for trying. You'll be lost in your complacency... a gift taken for granted will have been torn away, exiled like Eve from the garden of Eden, wandering forwards to the wilderness to face the toil therein. Mwahahahaha Mwahahaha. Urk.
