Ok, i've been trying reverse blinking for a bit now, but nothing ever happened. I wa wondering if someone could give me an average on how long you need to do it for, or how many times. Thanx!

As far as I've read into the technique, your supposed it do it until your eyes start to feel heavy; when you feel you could easily fall asleep. I think you usually combine it with the WBTB technique..

I'm not 100% sure on this, though. Don't quote me on it ; )

Well... depending on what you mean by how long:

You should try this for about a month[/b]
Reverse blinking should be done in a relaxed manner and consistently every 5 seconds. Sometimes I extend this time to 6 seconds and it works better. It's a really good technique if you can do it, I use it all the time to relax and etc. [/b]
I really don't know how long I reverse blink for, I haven't timed it - I just do it until I feel like I've said in my first post (falling into abyss, etc etc). Hmm, maybe about 10 to 15 minutes now that I think of it. Results may vary from person to person. [/b]

My method was actually similar but not the same.

When you are dosing off to sleep and you realize you are drifting off, open your eyes for a few seconds, once, just enough to get you "alert" but not awakened. So when you close your eyes again, you will still be drifting off but more aware. Then when you are about to drift off again open your eyes once, for a few seconds. Repeat as many times as you can until you fall asleep.

I use reverse blinking all the time.
It takes me only about 2minutes till i really dont wanna open my eyes anymore.
      It dose relax you.
I dont use it for LD purposes though, i use in school to get tired so i can fall alseep.

This sounded interesting to me, so last night I tried it. At first I relaxed, focusing from my feet to my head. Then I did the reverse blinking around every five seconds. Then, I started to feel something. At first it wasn't strong, but it grew stronger. Once the falling sensation happened, I had a hard time relaxing. I felt my heart rate increase and a had trouble breathing, as my body seemed to tense up. Then it just faded away, and I went back to normal. I tried three more times, and although I got the initial feeling, I never had the falling feeling again.
Did I do something Wrong? Does it take a few times before I will be able to stay relaxed? This obviously works somehow and I would really like to do it all the way through.

LucidMusic this has happened to me a few times before after WILDing with reverse blinking. Reverse blinking works great for me and I will experience a falling/sinking sensation and then tingling all over. Although I haven't gotten to that stage again to be able to try it, someone said that when that happens, they try hyperventilating. Report back if you get a chance to try it!

Your not trying to get a LD thru reverse blinking right? All it dose is relax you, nothing special.
Anyway, as it gets harder to open your eyes (not exactily harder, you just dont want to) blink less frequentily. It takes me 5minutes tops to stop completily. And just want to sleep :-)
The sinking tingling sensation is SP (sleep peralisis, and you get that not from reverse blinking but from laying in one position after your body has been sleeping and is still tired, and not moving.) Your body thinks your asleep and thats the sensation you get from being awake while your body "falls asleep"

--I think you read wrong, you dont "try" and hypervent, you want to stay calmb (forinstance when trying WILD and you get SP.)
Thats a big problem for me when WILDING, my heart races, and i mildly hypervent i guess. Dosnt bother me but it can kick me out of SP :-/.

Can someone please tell me what Reverse Blinking is? I'm a bit lost here.
The non-lucid dreamer's mind experiences the dream and you only remember the dream.

I believe it's when you close your eyes, then suddenly open them and close them whenever you would normally blink.
I can be a Lucid Master... In my dreams.

The first time was the only time I really got a powerfull falling feeling. Did you have a similar problem or have all of your attemps been as good or better than the first?
