Let me start with a quick intro: I've been interested in LD'ing for at least two years, with limited success. From the summer of '05 to the spring of '06, I diligently kept a dream journal, recording each night in painstaking detail. I also experimented with listening to audio overnight. Through all this time, I only achieved one moment of lucidity -- which lasted for about one minute before a telephone rang and woke me up. >_< But I at least know what I'm capable of.
My question is pretty simple: what is the best sleeping strategy for a night owl such as myself? I tend to stay up very late even on weekdays (thanks to late-morning classes), and even later on weekends (case in point -- it is currently 4:40 AM here). So generally I get less sleep than I should during the week, but catch up by sleeping in very late on weekends and taking the occasional nap if I need it.
In light of this, what are the best ways to time WBTB sessions? Should I do it after 5 hours of sleep (8-9 AM) even if that means having more potential sound distractions? Or should I focus more on afternoon naps? I understand that WILDing immediately at the start of the night is pretty tough, so I'm willing to explore other options here.
Well, I'm off to bed... I'll try waking in about 5 hours to see what responses there are. That should be a good way to test things out.
Good night/morning...
