      A tip i thought of;
      Before you go to bed put your tv on but on mute. That way when you wake up you open your eyes and notice the light. DONT MOVE. Just close your eyes and slip in.

      Nice idea. Although my room doesn't have a TV.

      I've tried falling asleep while my roommate was watching TV with no lights on and low sound. The flashing lights from the TV can be easily seen throught the closed eyelids and they are incredibly annoying. The only way I was remotely able to fall asleep was to turn away from the TV and put a pillow on my head to avoid the flashing lights.
