Red face

lol people I've been wondering lately

you know, my first idea of the wild tech was relax->HI->SP
so many people talk about HI and getting it and several other things, and how you supposedly need those for a WILD

...still, I don't think I've EVER experienced it, although i'm sure I have experienced SP when trying to WILD
now I wonder:

A) does HI simply not happen to some people?

B) does it come naturally, or do you have to force it?

C) how is it like when you're having them?

all the imagery I've got so far was like, when I was visualising scenarios, some things happened against my will (for example, the piece of floor where I'm stading disappears and I fall down, or when I lose 1st person view)

I don't know what I'm doing wrong, I've tried simply everything suggested around, and still see nothing but pitch dark behind my eyelids

thank you all for your constructive hints so far

PS: just had another short DILD this night :yumdumdoodledum:

Wikipedia has an excellent article about hypnagogic imagery.

Ok so when you experience Hypnagogic Imagery is it something you physically see behind your eyelids or do you just kinda imagine it in your head like your daydreaming in class?

The most random HI I've ever gotten was just closing my eyes for a few seconds while I was wide awake one day, and I saw a pale fleshy 'demon'... It was totally random, and I was speechless for a while...
LD Count: 7
Longest time in a lucid dreamstate: ~6 seconds

Still, the most epic six seconds I have ever experienced...

HI is not something you phsyically see. It is however seen with your "mind's eye." It generally starts of with faint and unclear visions like swirling fog and things of that nature. The trick is to watch passively as this all happens, if you get to involved in trying to change things or focus on them in this fragile state they will disappear. If you watch passively the "visions" will become clearer as time progresses.
Some people carry on, some just stay right where they are.

I think everyone is different... even if the WILD tutorials seem to describe what the majority of people experience, I personnaly never had any HI or SP or "vibration" while doing WILD. I just feel at some point that my body is replaced by a dream body, then I feel it moving a bit randomly, then images of my room appear and voila, I'm in a LD. Sometimes I have the "sudden loud sound" phenomenon, however.

Only once I felt the "vibrations"; yesterday morning I attempted a WILD which never "took off", I just had the "dream body sensation" for some minutes; then a strange rush/flash in my real body and the vibrations, I suppose, which completely ended it all (because of the surprise). I felt numb but I could still move my fingers; I waited for some minutes more, but didn't change anything.
So I suppose that I usually get in the LD before the SP+vibration ! (I do WILD only in the morning, when it's very fast to fall back asleep. WILD takes just a few minutes for me then.)

EDIT: As for the "fog" images, I have them too... as soon as I close my eyes at any point in the day. I tried to concentrate on them on my first WILD attempts, but they stayed the same forever and never transformed in real HI.
Dec. 2006 - July 2007:
92 DILDs + 30 WILDs ; 75% too short, 24% decent, ~3 of 2 to 5 minutes
(I stopped counting after that)

about the daydreaming, yes itstarts like daydreaming, but after a while I just let it go and lose control over it... so I feel hallucinations of different kinds

including sounds, feelings, and the images I see

actually when I'm having hallucinations I'm so afraid of losing them that I lose consciousness and fall asleep

dunno wha tI should do now lol

but I'm pretty sure I was already kinda asleep, I felt complete disclosure fro my... it was just my mind working there

anyways ty for the avice so far
