Whenever I am falling asleep I get this strange feeling that I am infinitely big while infinitely small, it's not the best description but that is what it feels like. Also whenever i am trying to bring up a image in my mind, it also feels disorted like that. Its like the dimensions in my mind contrast with each other while amplifying at the same time.
Eventually, if i stay conscious through the ordeal, I no longer feel tired at all and it then takes me awhile to fall back asleep.
I'm curious if anybody else has experienced something like this and what exactly is it. I believe it is a form of Hypnagogia state but unlike anything else that is usually associated with it (i.e. hearing sounds or visions).

If this is in the wrong category, please move it then.

This happens to me as well and I would have described it the same way. I figure its part of sleep paralysis coming on but there's nothing really documented that falls under the description. It is usually a good sign to me that Im getting close. Hope this helps.

I think this is exactly what you think; a weird form of hypnogogic imagery as you are falling asleep. Though this isn't a common form of it to my knowledge (I haven't experience it), it is nothing to worry about. Just try to sit through it, and don't try to hard to bring up images, and you will be able to just fall asleep, possibly lucid.

Although strange it may feel (and it does), it is quite the interesting experience. But what i am trying to do now is use this feeling as a easier way to shift over into a dream, do you think it is possible to do this without WBTB or WILD method (as in going to sleep for 5 hours then going back to bed)?

Wow dude, this is really weird cause i used to get this ALL the time and when i was little and it would make me REALLY scared. But after a while i got used to it and now i can do it whenever i want, falling asleep or not. Try doing it when someone is talking to you, i do it all the time in class to the teacher when im bored. By the way, great way to describe ive always had trouble explaining that feeling.
