well actually as long as you were aware that you were dreaming then you had a lucid, being able to control your dream is completely different from the term lucid, lucid simply means "mentally clear", for the nose RC, i do this RC aswell, but sinceyou were not aware i'd just say that you had a dream you did an RC and the dream contained a small amount of awareness but shortly after you lost that awareness before being able to be aware that you were dreaming, if this problem persists maybe when aware in your dream don't do the nose RC, do another, or maybe observe your surroundings, think about what you've done in the past few hours, think about what you intend to do, don't let the dream world trick you, it has a habit of doing that, good luck with further lucids though. |

SGBuddy23, that's really encouraging, don't feel like it didn't work. |

ok well let me know if the problem persists, but if this a one off then you should be fine when it comes to lucid dreams, good luck with your RC's and future lucid dreams, don't let it get you down either, its just part of the process, these sort of things happen to many lucid dreamers, just don't let it get to you, move on and you'll have some great lucid dreams to come! |

Hi..U could try doing the 'Matrix' RC because by default the movie if U've seen it is connected to dreaming so most likely it will trigger some lucidity. It's very simple, if U've seen the movie U would know that there is a giant phone jack thingy at the back of Ur head between the neck and the head area...just reach to feel it with Ur hands. If U think it's there most likely it will...then U know for sure Ur dreaming. U can use it in darkness too so it's very convenient to use also and anywhere. It gave me a lucid...almost 2 because in the other one I din't think it to be there... |

Hey buddy, you should be happy, you came very close. It just means |

Maybe the source of the problem is tied to how you do reality checks on a regular basis. When you do the RC, do you spend a moment after it thinking: "Ok, that didn't work, so I'm not asleep/dreaming", and what this really means, or is it just kinda something you do quickly? It's a bit difficult to get into a sort of pattern where you're not just repeating a phrase to yourself like "I'm not dreaming" after having done an RC, but actually thinking about what it means. Otherwise it can just end up being a phrase that has no meaning to you, and therefore won't actually trigger consciousness in a dream, or give you a sort of feeling where you "know" you're dreaming, but aren't really consciously aware. I've had similar problems and I'm always kinda debating on how lucid I was in certain LDs. A nice, helpful post concerning this is here. Hope this helps for future LDs! |
