after a long day and food I took a nap. my body was heavy and my mind was already drifting with various HIs, so I knew I could WILD easily.

Just thinking about WILDing gave a jolt of fuzzy sensations all along my body. When I pressed on my eyes harder the SP became even stronger, starting from my eyes - then my head and slowly traveling down.

But at some point, my cheeks started to hurt like they would BURST. So I stopped. But I was still sleepy enough to be drifting in HI. So I tried again and this time I tried to ignore the pain, but then my throat started to hurt as if I was choking. It felt like my throat was swelling up and getting smaller and smaller and smaller and that soon I wouldnt be able to breathe. When it seemed like I couldnt breathe anymore I stopped the WILD.

After that, I was half awake, half asleep. I could see my room, it wasnt a false awakening, it was my real room - but my eyes were so heavy I was seeing double!

anyways, naps and WILDS always give me something different everytime. Has anyone ever experienced so much pain from a WILD they had to stop? Im not even sure if the pain was real!! At one point when the pain was intense I heard popping noises and air puffing - almost as if it was puffing out of my neck. . . . :yumdumdoodledum: Maybe it was all in my head. .

The last WILD I had (which was also like my first good one), I thought my BF was tickling and poking me really painfully. As soon as I realized it was a dream, it went away. But I can see how pain could stop a WILD; it really hurt.

Read that. Apparently it's your body sending you signals to see if the mind is awake. If you ignore those huge signals of pain and uncomfortableness, your body is tricked into believing your mind is asleep and SP sets in.

It also talks about the sort of "pressure" you described.

Just to clarify - did you actually try to close your eyes really hard once you started to see HI and feel weird stuff?

That link says the signals last about 5 seconds. When it happens me its more like an endurance test, it feels like the pain goes on for minutes. Constant pressure on my arms/chest pressing me down into the bed like there's a concrete block on my torso. I went with it every time last night, not moving whenever i came out of it so i could go back in. I went lucid for a short while the fifth time but it wasnt worth the pain.

Yeah I know what you mean. I tried to WILD once, and when that uncomfortable feeling set in, I just had to move. I'm sure if I knew what it was, I wouldn't have moved, but it's tough to stay still.
