How I have had success w/WILD

Well someone just PMed me and asked me what i might do special when I've attempted my wilds. I thought my answer might help someone else so I decided to post it. here goes, its kinda long.

hmmm...twice (i didn't do it on purpose) on thursday and friday I had to drive my girlfriend to work and come back home, might of helped wake up my mind and make it easier. I take melatonin a couple times a week before going to bed (helps me sleep) but also found it made dreams more vivid sometimes, unless that was just me, never know. I did drink a lil soda while i was awake before going back to sleep, but only like 1/4th of a can. I'm trying to think of everything I did. I tried them all at about the same time; which was about 11:20am. Frequent reality checks during the day (especially during the time before attempting the wild) that is what helped me be lucid in my first LD/wild, looking at digital clocks a lot. besides all that while actually laying down i had a fan on, laid there for about 30mins or so not really thinking about too much, told myself i would be dreaming soon and I want to become lucid, and tried to "daydream" and imagine images as much as possible. And I find that not moving at all is not helpful for me, i lay in one position for about the first 20mins trying not to move at all, while doing this since I know i'll be awake for a while so i tell myself in my head all the stuff about wanting to LD and becoming aware and such and just what i will be expecting. THEN since by now i'm not very comfortable i roll over and switch sides which just makes me sooo much more comfy(which I think helps me fall asleep much faster while my mind is still awake), do a reality check and close my eyes for the last time and think of images and look at my hypnogogic imagery and listen for sounds. for me i find the sounds to be very helpful. Please write back if you found this confusing and ask any more specific questions you might have... i'm still new to all of this and dont quite know how to put it all into words, ya know??

I've also been very optimistic my whole life and it hasn't changed when coming to LDing. After my first one the other day I thought, hey that wasn't so hard, and said I will do it again tomorrow, and I did, so i thought, well what is stoping me from doing it again for a third time?? and I did, so just stay positive man!!

hey man thats exactly what ive been doing

the part where i tell myself and think about how im going to have a lucid dream again

i usually tell myself that the next time im standing im going to be dreaming and stuff about how i WILL have another lucid dream tonight just like last night and then i plan what im going to do (because i am a lucid noob i dont have much time to waste in my short lucidity)

last night i only had about a minute (i think) i made a friend appear and asked him how to make lightning bolts come from my hands

it worked i just stressed my hands out like i was reaching for something

i was a little disappointed b/c it wasnt really coming from my hands but the lightning was striking like a hundred feet infront of me where ever i wanted

tonight when i get lucid im going to have my friend teach me how to fly (it should work better than how the last guy taught me)

Yeah flying is awesome... I've pretty much got flying down I think... I always fly in my non-lucid dreams and I remember as a kid being able to fly at will in dreams so I guess its natural for me to do it in dream land. I didn't try do have one this morning, i was too tired to get up.. if i'm not too tired tomorrow i'll try again.
