      Angry What the....

I don't know if this was a Lucid or what but I did a reality check and I realized that I was dreaming but I did not take control over anything and did not think about anything in the dream and I was in it for like 5 minutes it seemed. When I noticed the dream was ending thats when I started thing and trying to do something.

P.S. I do not know what was happening in the dream other than the RC and it ending...

You were lucid, but incredibly low level.

I concur, there definitly appears to be a lucid level, sometimes your fully aware and other times your barely lucid, just like waking life really. Id guess that it may have something to do with the levels of certain chemicals in the brain that determines your state of lucidity, whether high or low.

You can't be more and less lucid. It's actually more like a level of awareness and control. In this case, it was just low.

It has nothing to do with chemicals (it does, but not to that extent)
A person can always increase his/her level of awareness and control. One way, is to focuse on your hands and rub your hands together.

Thanks but I don't even thing about Lucidity when I am lucid which is the problem of why I didn't take control of it because I wasn't thinking about dreamspinning or handrubbing and I want to remember those things can someone tell me a better way to remember so when I do get lucid?

      Thanks,

      Mr defensive to the rescue...

We're talking about the same thing... The 'level' of lucidity im talking about IS awareness and control, its all about being aware your dreaming, by saying your at a higher level of lucidity i mean your more aware and have more control.
      http://www.lucidnet.co.uk/preparation/levels.htm
I find it easier to say "I had a low level lucid dream" then "I had a lucid dream but didnt have alot of control and awareness"

It has nothing to do with chemicals (it does, but not to that extent)
A person can always increase his/her level of awareness and control. One way, is to focuse on your hands and rub your hands together.
Im aware that you can increase control by rubbing your hands but thats not exactly the most scientific and indepth analysis of dream control ive ever read :p .. Studies seem to show that the levels of serotonin and norepinephrine in the brain directly affect judgement and control in dreams and i was simply stating that this would be my guess too... soooo it probably does have something to do with chemicals. Whether certain actions in dreams would rouse the brain into increasing the levels of these chemicals in dreams is another question, but it seems to be so, just like actions and thoughts in waking life change the chemical balance in the brain.

Maybe you could incorporate something into your reality checking that would remind you. You could write "Dream spin" or "Take Control" on the back of your hand during the day for instance, and read it after every reality check. That way when you reality check you might instantly think about the text you normally read and it might give you a lucid kick.
Basically get something that reminds you to take more control and then associate it with your reality checks.
