      RC's

I've been using RC's in real life to get used to using them in dreams to induce dream signs, or use as dream signs.

I'll clog my nose while driving down hte road and try and breath through it, and while at a restaurant or at work, basically everywhere and anywhere. I mostly use the nose cloging but others as well. my desire is to get so used to doing that, that it will induce a Ld through being able to breath when I do it in a dream. Well last night I dreamed of doing that and of course I was able to breath but I couldn't remember what I was supposed to do next and soon just dreamed on, But I feel I came very close to an LD.

Has anyone else tried this before?

I've been working on my hand RC (which has worked for me once). I made my cell phone banner RC so that id remember to do an RC every time i check my phone. It worked great for making me think of LDs when im dreaming, but it has yet to put me into an LD.

It has been very frustrating for me because for the last 3 nights in a row ive dreamt about LDs but not had a LD.

I've been using that one as well since I saw the post about it. funny thing is I also had a dream about hands. Hands where tearing through my window screen it was two nephews of mine and I was asking them why they where ruining my screen and they said something I can't remember, all hte while in my dream i was thinking there was something I was supposed to do and I was trying to figure it out then I woke up. same thing with the nose clogging , I'll even try to put my had through walls or other solid objects while awake just to induce a RC while dreaming.

Your on the right track- But

It sounds to me like when your doing these nose checks, you are doing them just to do them and form a habit, and focuse on weather or not you can breathe through your nose.

You need to use them to "check your reality". Before you do one, look around and ask yourself "is this real" and afterwards focus on weather or not your in reality.

This way next time you get lucky and do one in a dream, it wont be just going through the motions, it will get your mind to question/notice you are not in reality.

RCs are a great solid way for all techniques to LD and perfect to induce DILDs (Dream Induced Lucid Dreams)

      Heres an example:

Dreaming: I was in the car with my GF. She was driving. She forgot something and was turning around. (I thought to myself...wait...what..how am I in the car with my GF right now) grabbed my nose, tried to breathe, I could, and realized it was not reality Lucid Dream begins.

      Good Luck!

Getting more and more interested in this. Its a research topic i think (when the forum reappears). I'm not sure they really do work as easily as people describe. E.g. Alprazolam - you were already questioning the reality of your dream - the RC simply confirmed this. This is very different to the RC appearing spontaneously, THEN going lucid.
