Was this really SP? I've never had SP like THIS.

Okay, normally I don't have very noticable hypnotic imagery or sleep paralysis but I know that I HAVE had it. And I have a lot of trouble relaxing in my bed and getting to sleep. But last night, something strange happened.

      10:35 pm
I'm lying in my bed trying with little effort to WILD. (I had just gotten off from babysitting, so I wasn't very into it.) After about half an hour to forty-five minutes, I give up and just try to go to sleep.

      middle of the night
I'm dreaming about various different things and when I wake up later I couldn't write them down because my notebook fell off my bed and I couldn't find it. And then I forget them later because of the weird thing that happens next.

      4:30 am
I wake up really hot and sweaty because of the warm weather we have been having lately. I dropped my note book, so I decide to forget about writing my dreams for now. I get up, grab a glass of water and go back to bed. I try to go back to sleep but I just can't get comfortable. Finally I manage to kind of relax and stay still, but there are still a lot of thoughts running around in my mind.
I try to calm my mind and after getting a little stressed out at my stupid head, I pretend that strings are pulling all the thoughts up and away, but it's just too interesting to imagine all these tiny people and things getting yanked out of the blackness of my head.
So I try to focus either on the blackness I see (with my eyes closed) or imagine whiteness all around me. That doesn't work either because then I find myself multitasking and both concentrating on the black / white as well as other stuff.
I guess after I while I give up the battle and just let my mind wonder, though I try not to think TOO hard. I don't know what happened then, because I guess I just realize that for the past five minutes I haven't really been thinking about anything! All of the sudden for no apparent reason at all, an image of the 'Aristocats' (I movie I watched when I was little) pops into my head. Then a very vivid image of another cat, and a kitten shows up out of the darkness, and then a very vivid image of the front half of a school bus. (???)
At that exact moment there is a weird pressure on my body, and vibrations move all through my body, about medium sized I would say. But even though I'm vibrating, I notice that my bed isn't shaking. (I have a very shaky bed.) I also hear this noise (this was the part that scared me a tiny bit) It sounded like a very large, heavy train going by, but without the sound of the wheels on tracks. It was just a loud rumbling that I could almost feel. Though I didn't make very much effort because I didn't want it to stop in case it was SP, I couldn't really move. Then as suddenly as it had started it stopped. For a moment I felt like I was nowhere, just floating in nothingness and then I was back in my room in my bed, fully cappable of moving. (I did an RC just to be sure, and I was difinately not asleep.) I have to say I was very dissapointed but intrigued.
About 15 seconds later while I'm still kind of dazed, a bird chirps loudly next to my window and I'm wide awake. I couldn't get back to sleep so I finally got up at about 5:50am.
Was this really SP or something else? I've never experienced that kind SP, or at least not that I remember. Why did it stop suddenly? I wasn't getting excited, and my breathing was fine. Did I maybe tense up without realizing it?

      Help much appreciated,
      Thanks.

man this was for sure sleep paralysis

feelign restless is really common when you're trying to wild

actually, that sensation of floating in nothingness is pretty much SP itself for me... the previous sensation are related to entering SP I guess

and remember: no wild is like a previous one.. one time I got to SP in 15 minutes, another one I stayed awake for 2 and a half hours without ever feeling anything

so just chill and good work man

      stay lucid,

Yea that sounds like SP. I've caught myself in sort of a similar situation before.

I caught myself snoring and I feel like I'm awake but everything feels very light and my breathing is very heavy and it's completely autonomous. It's a distinct feeling, I could probably have started LDing but I had to wake up.

yeah that was it. it kinda sucks with the visions though. One time when I had it i saw a mirror of myself lying in bed, and there were four people dressed in all black choking myself, and reflection of me died.....sucked. But that was before I learned about relaxing and whatnot. Normally when I have SP, and I wake from it, if I attempt to go to sleep right after it happens, it'll kick in again, and this was back when I didn't know anything and was trying to fight it. So the next time it happens, and you wake up, try going back to sleep without doing anything.
