Thread: Masturbation?

In your experience does masturbation affect your ability to LD? It seems like a pointless question, but when I do it, I normally do it before bed. I haven't been trying to LD for very long, but I wonder if that could be related to why I can't do it. Thoughts?

Not sure if it's true or just one of those myths. If you dont masturbate though, you'll eventually dream your having sex, realise you must be dreaming and get lucid :p

When i say this i'm not trying to get your hopes down but being realistic i believe it can only help to a certain degree, masturbating could work like a placebo for you however i find that it only really relaxes you and makes you feel happy, i don't think it affects whether you have a lucid dream or not, you can try this and it may sucessfully work however i think it will not work due to the lack of ties it has to your conscious mind within a dream, all it can really do is make you relax, which helps but doesn't directly induce lucid dreams. ok man i have had the same question!
my girl tells me im a perv because i always talk about LDs and sex...
i was thinking that having a sexually active mind could be bad for LDs i mean everyone masturbates right? but what about people that have a lack of concentration sometimes because of SEX?? maybe this could be the anwer to dryspells and stuff..

Huh? I was asking if masturbation PREVENTS you from having a lucid dream.

No worries lol i just didn't want to come off like as a sex addict. I know that sexual activity is a relatively large drain on your body energy, but I don't know if that affects your ability to LD or not. I guess the only way to know is to find out heh.

It probably makes you more tired, therefore puts you into a deeper sleep.

Actually, 8/10 people who don't masturbate during their teen/preteen years are gay.
Its a totally normal thing that the body urges you to do to release excess sperm until you have an actual sex partner to do it with.
