Angry ILD...give me a freaking break

alright...i slept from around 2 in the morning till 1 in the afternoon (i work late) I stayed up a little and wrote in my dream journal. I don't have to be at work until 4 so I tried to freaking go back to sleep and have a LD

So I'm in my bed...relaxed...seeing spots and flashes and my body goes numb. Next thing you know...I see a bed with a black pillow on it...i'm actually a the dream...and then my real body swallows spit...and I'm back in my normal bed with my eyes closed.

I was in the dream for about freaking 3 seconds and my real body made me leave it to clear my effing throat Well I'm off to work..maybe I'll try staying up extra late tonight and falling asleep at a later time and try the same thing... any advice? or condolences

Alot of the waking to LD techs such as FILD and possibly WILD do that untill you learn how to stop it from happening. Had a similar experience last night w/ FILD. My advice would be try to master a dream to LD tech such as MILD or Hand Technique. Also, you may try infinity. It can be found on LD4ALL (http://ld4all.com/forum/viewtopic.php?t=22499)

Remember from where you came, and stay true to your ideals. There is no place for those who have lost their souls.

Maybe that was a false awakening.
Did you do a reality check?

yeah...did the breathing one...and then hopped on the computer and typed that out...went to work and just came back. I don't know why, but it seems more and more when I'm just about to sleep, or dream, I wake up. One night I did that for like what seemed to be 2 hours. I'll just have a short dream for a second or something and wake up. I think I just need to take a break from it for a while.

A little trick to avoid the swallowing reflex is a certain positioning of the head. If your head is slightly tilted backwards and your throat is relaxed you can feel it collapsing in on itself, if your head is slightly tilted forward and maybe also a bit lifted (by putting a pillow under your head, or a towel or anything; the so-called 'sniffing position') you will notice your throat still clear when it is relaxed. Of course this only works when you sleep on your back. Just try it out and see if it helps.
