      Almost a WILD

I woke up today at 5 and stayed up until 6 to try and WILD. I found that I was getting to excited to fully enter sp but did end up seeing some scenes flash by and people talking. I rolled over and tried to fall asleep as usual. I entered a dream and I was in my house and it the clock read 10. I looked outside and it was night time. I couldnt believe I had spent the whole day sleeping and started to panic because I missed my appointment that I have been waiting over a month for. I woke up and found myself in my bed, closed my eyes and soon heard LOUD winds whipping past my ears and saw a very vivid kaleidescope pattern and it felt like my body was shaking at first and then completely gone. I rode out the whole thing hoping to find a lucid dream like the last time but only saw the words "almost" appear and kind of fuzzed away and I was aware that I was in my room in the morning but did not open my eyes or move for a few minutes. I gave up and did a rc to find that i had awoke.

Not too sure what went wrong, are you supposed to create the dream scene during sp or after because I was just hoping to end up outside of body somewhere like last time. Having Wilds is definitely one of my target goals to achieve this summer and I am getting close!!

Hmm I think you were on the right track but must have sort of been too relaxed at the time. There is a fine line between staying awake and slipping into a dream and the space ON that line is when you WILD! Anyway, have fun

Your experience reminds me of one of my own. One morning I was sleeping fitfully when I realized that a geometric pattern had formed before my eyes. I concentrated on one of the squares and found myself being drawn into it.. it was then that I realized that I was dreaming. I closed my astral eyes and when I opened them, I separated from my body and I crawled out of my bed.

ItsMorningNow, I had vibrations and the loud *fingernails on the chalkboard* sounds when I had my first few WILDs, but sadly now I no longer feel vibrations, see patterns nor hear sounds. I miss them as they let me know I had entered mind awake/body asleep.

What I experience now is a subtle but distinctive *shift* in my consciousness. When this shift occurs, I simply wait until I know that I can roll out. The knowing of "when" I can roll out is something that has come from practice and from trial and error.

I've missed many opportunities to be lucid due to waiting around for vibrations, scenes or sounds to either start or grow stronger.

Alright, so when you "roll out" are you mentally rolling off the bed or to the side? I'm not sure if I want to make the mistake of actually falling off my bed. Thanks for the advice, I think it will help because I can often get to a shift in consciousness but its very hard to maintain that state while waiting for the dream to appear.

well, that feeling like you are shaking and the hallucinations are typical of Sleep Paralysis

I don't know whether you were entering SP or entering a Dream though, since I don't know how intense it was

but remember.. if you ever wake up in the night and feel paralyzed or feel hallucinations, stay focused and watch passively what happens
Don't try to snap out of it, as you could end up moving your real body and ruining the whole process

by the way.. that stage is usually called the Transition... if you're getting into it, then you're really close to a WILD
Just remember to stay lucid while the dream forms

Saying quantum physics explains cognitive processes is just like saying geology explains jurisprudence.

If you're physical body is asleep.. it's "paralyzed" and your "astral/lucid" body will roll off the bed or to the side.

Speaking of "actually falling off the bed".. below is something that relates:

After having lucid dreams for a while, I started feeling fainter vibrations. Sooo I read that vibrations can be happening even though they're not strong (or seem to have stopped) and that you merely *roll* over and you'll find yourself out. Well that sounded nifty!

So the next time I was in bed and felt faint vibrations, I rolled to my right .. and smack into the wall!

To my embarrassment, I hear my husband say, "uuuuuh... are you alright?"

I can still see my husband shaking his head as he looked at the wall imprint on my forehead the next morning.
