      Question Semi-lucid?

I think I had a semi-lucid dream! I've never had a LD at all before.

I usually ride my bike to my bus stop, then take the bus to school. So in my dream, I'm riding my bike, and I think "Crap, I forgot my bus pass. Oh wait a minute, this is a dream, it doesn't matter!"

I didn't really become lucid, I didn't have control of my own body or anything, and for the rest of the dream, I didn't think much about my knowledge that it was a dream. What went wrong, and what can I do to correct it?

Hi, I think U should think back what were Ur thoughts before U slept. Was Ur intent towards having a lucid dream? If so then remember what was the intensity of the intent. Btw was this dream the first one or one of the last few ones nearing to morning?

      Hi webmaster

I've had some experiences like this long before I knew about lucid dreaming. Simply stating to my self in the dream that it is a dream and then continuing like nothing happened. I think it's because dreams are very distracting. It's easy to get distracted from knowing that you are dreaming.

But I think this might be a sign that you are moving in the right direction to become truly aware that you are dreaming.

You would probably want to make up a short plan of what you want to do once you realize you are dreaming. First of all you should do a reality check to prove to your self that you are really dreaming. That way you might not get distracted by the dream.

Keep doing what ever you are doing to get lucid. Try also to question reality when you are awake. Thinking "Is this a dream? What would I do if this was a dream?" and do reality checks.

imj - Actually, I was trying to WILD that night, but I was so tired that I fell right asleep. I remembered two that night, and the semi-lucid one was at the end. I woke up shortly after it, my alarm went off.

ichor - I've been doing reality checks during RL. But I haven't tried thinking "what would I do if it was". I didn't have enough control during the dream to do an RC, unfortuantely. I'll start making plans though!

Thank you both for your help!

You knew that it was a dream, then you were lucid. Getting control and being lucid are usually together, but not the same thing. When you say "This is a dream," it means that you are most likely lucid.
