      The lucid light again

Hi, after trying out almost all kinds of methods imaginable....I've decided to go back to trying my home made lucid light but with B pills this time so it would be easier to go back to sleep if it wakes me up...might induce a rentry instead. It's a normal spotlight hooked up to a timer and a bit of electronics for time on duration, aimed at me...LOL. Hope it works besides a miracle..... If it's succesful I will post results and probably some pics....

Interresting. I'll be checking out your progress.

I've thought of this before. I can not afford expesnive NovaDreamer devices that have REM-movement detectors so I thought I might as well fix a bright lamp over my bed and set it to flash a couple of times with a timer-socket.

Hi, after 3 nights of adjusting brightness...so far no LDs other than being woken up or missing the light. BUT.....I did have an LD this morning as an indirect result of the light. I got woken up by the light subtlely being not very bright and I was already out of REM sleep and almost awake. I got up to check the timer to see if I missed any cues as what I always do for the past 3 nights. Then I got back to bed thinking about shifting the time to 2 hours apart instead of 1 hour apart which I found to be quite cruel . Then I decided to wear my watch and adjust the strap....but din't do any checks with it. After about 10 minutes wearing the watch and thinking of the lucid light I removed the watch and put it on my bedhead. I then went back to sleep thinking of the lucid light going off in 2 hours time and of doing a reality check with the watch because both are in close proximity. I had a lucid dream in which I did check my watch but I wasn't wearing it, I was holding it to check. So my conclusion for now was that a kind of external MILD had taken place. The lucid light was the 'going to happen' event that I hope will make me lucid and the watch was the element I knew I had to use to reach that goal. I will try it again.

Hi, I think I almost got it with the brightness adjustment. I haven't had a lucid yet so far because I'm still sleeping through the light..last night I was aware of it although it did not wake me up, but still asleep I guess...not dreaming..like half in half out of sleep.... I guess that means something.

Nope, no lucids plus I was about to enter the dream after waking up briefly and the light went off.... so I woke up fully.

Interesting experiment. I think the times the Dream mask made me lucid was due to the fact that I had something weird on my head, maybe not the lights themselves, like how your lucid was.

I think I'll get that back out again. Continue posting your results; hope you it starts to work for you.

Hi,after reading Westonci's post on the Flashlight Induced LD I think I'd better change my light to flashing mode...LOL. It could be Y I missed them earlier.... I did think of the flashing but I thought it din't matter.

Hi,I missed the first light cue and I upped the brightness by abit after that. Missed the 2nd light cue but I saw the last light cue. I was still dreaming and I saw quite vagely the flashing going on. But I accepted it as part of the dream, shortly after that I woke up and I went to check if the light had really gone off..it did about the same time ago. I'll have to up the brightness somemore....it's already very bright (heavy sleeper)....

Good to see you're getting there. Hope you get the right brightness and times figured out. Interesting experimenting. I'd love for this to work out for you. Will you post and lucid dreams that were caused by the light?

Lousy night of dreams last night. I din't remember a single one plus I woke up before the light went off thrice. I decided to turn off the light since it was already near to morning, seems I had 3 vivid dreams after that.... I don't know if it's the light creating stress or anxiety of me failing to become lucid but I notice I've had crappy dream recall since I used the light. My guess is that it could have disrupted my sleep cycle. But on previous nights I slept through the light and still crappy dream recall.....maybe the light did wake me up but not full conciousness so much that I din't realise it. I'll still use the light....give it another shot by being more relaxed about it and reduce the on time meaning shorter but brighter bursts.

Hi, I haven't been trying the light for couple of days since my last post of which I did not carry out. I'm at the brink of giving it up as a failed idea UNTIL I saw this...http://cre.ations.net/creation/face-...-dreaming-mask
There's still the possibility of it working...:p. So I will set my light 3 hours later to go off after which it will be every hour.

Hi, the light went off after 3 hours during the light sleep phase of my sleep cycle.....so it woke me up while the dream was already fading. The second time it went off after I was already sort of awake.... I think I'll stick back to 2 hours.
