      Arrow Trouble with RCs. Suggestions?

      Hey there,

I very often have dreams where I get a que that I am dreaming and debate the issue that I'm dreaming with various DCs.

I usually try the breath holding technique which fails as I really do seem to hold my breath in my dream and am unable to breath. It was the first technique I read about that many people rave about, so it seems that I try it first.

Anyway, when I realize I'm dreaming I am almost always discussing it with a DC, but I never snap into full control by doing RCs. Typically I gain full control after a que without doing any RCs.

      In summary:

Que's tips me off that I should be dreaming, and almost always talk to DCs about it, try RCs which tend to always fail for me in dreams as the results of my tests seem to be legitimate... LD FAILS.

Que's tip me off and I snap into a fully controllable LD immediately without a RC. LD WORKS

Anyone else have major problems like me with que's that lead to RCs that fail for them? Anyone else like me and typically always only have a spontaneous LDs after a que without RCs?

I would be greatful for any tips from experienced LDers.

      Cheers

I have had three dreams which I can remember in which my RC's failed, but they were pretty far between each other. Just the other night I had two RC's fail me in the same dream. Its definately irritating.

As far as becoming lucid I think that I usually have something to tip me off, and then I don't even need an RC to gain lucidity. In times like these I will sometimes to an RC just to increase lucidity but not to gain it.

On the contrary, I have more LD's when I am performing RC's throughout the day even though I don't necesarrily(sp?) use them to become lucid in a dream.

This was definately a jumbled reply but I hope I helped out

Next time try a different RC like the finger through palm technique.

      Cool,

Thanks guys I think I might try mixing up the RCs a bit more.

The thing is I havn't become lucid from doing a RC check yet so I want to try some new ones.

I only become fully lucid when I see a que and snap into full lucidity. If I don't snap into it right away, I usually end up having the same discussions with DCs about dreaming... sooo annoying!

ps NeAvO... finger through palm? like just shove it right through? heh

Finally! I tried the finger through the thumb thing and it worked amazingly!

I had a decent lucid dream changing stuff, looking in a mirror and messing with my face, buncha other stuff...

I was loosing the dream at one point so I remembered to rub my hands together, it was crazy how it brought everything so clear.. To keep my hands going I imagined I had gloves on that constantly stimulated my hands.

Wanted to try flying then I woke up as I got bumped by my partner

Thanks NeAvO... that RC is kickass! I can't wait to use it again.

I usualy realize that i'm probably dreaming through a thought, and then I think to myself "o.k., dreaming now, time for RCs." then I use RC's to increase lucidity alond with hand rubbing and actually saying "increase lucidity!" I was sceptical about that until I tried it. however, I've never had an RC fail. quick though. maybe we should use a different rc every week so that our SC's don't become used to a particular one and block it out.

I'm with zobey. I usually have an idea that I'm LDing even before an RC. I use the RC to increase lucidity and also just for verification. I'd rather have a successful RC before I jump out of a window than jump out and not be sure.

Also, if one RC fails, try doing another different one after that, just to be sure. Another one that I tried once when I thought I might be dreaming is I was looking down a hallway and saw a group of people. I looked away, think that they would be gone when I looked back and they were. It's wasn't like they turned a corner because they were in a dead end. Anyway, when things change significantly, it's another good sign you can use.
