      Can't get the WILD!

I don't know what it is. I tried yet again last night to try a WILD. It seems I can never get to the "visual" seeing light part. I lay down and relax and.. I don't see anything, I don't hear anything.. nothing happens.

Straight from my DJ: I fell asleep about 11:00pm and awoke at about 5:00am. I got up, went to bathroom, etc. for about 35 minutes. I then lay back down and relax. I guess I fell asleep. I did have a lucid last night, but I said "Wait.. I'm dreaming" while in the dream.

After a while I find myself nodding off.. When you WILD, do you relax with your eyes open or closed? I usually close mine and I can't seem to get to the visual/sound phase.

I've followed various tuts here and none seem to work quite well. I don't think I've had sleep paralysis or even the "falling sensation" ..How can I WILD successfully!? I'm going to try agian tonight, I hope to get it.

Try after 3-4 hours of sleep, not 6.
Also stay up for only 15-20 minutes as to not wake yourself completely up.
That's my advice, give it a try.

Also, don't expect Sp or any of the sensations that others say they experience. I rarely ever get sp or odd feelings or sounds before I dream. I just either step into a lucid dream or 'wake up' laying in the same position in dream as I fell asleep in bed, totally aware that I'm dreaming. Perhaps the same will be true for you.

I might just hijack this topic for a bit.

I've tried WILDing a few times as well with no success.

Most of the time I just end up lying in bed untill I hear the birds start chirping and I give up. That's usually after an hour or so (4am-5am). I sleep for about 5-5 1/2 hours before attempting, and stay awake for around 20-30 minutes. I tried just relaxing in ed without getting up once and I fell right back asleep.

Any advice? I've never experienced hypnogogic hallucinations to my knowledge, at lease recently.

There are few things you could try. The key for WILD to work is to be conscious, so at best interest you could be very creative at this. Now being conscious doesn't mean you have to be awake till birds star chirping xD, just do whatever you try to do when you want to sleep, just don't loose conscious, for example, I just normally go thinking creativly letting my body go into sleep, not even trying or thinking of wilding or staying mind awake, you will notice that your thougths will just start running on their own like autopilot, and most likely fall asleep, the tricky thing here is, not to be too altered when this happens, because when you fall asleep, the mayor probability is that if you notice this(be concious about it :p) your wakefullnes of mind will be your doom swooping you back awake, like if you were pulled out of your body, hence the dificulty. Its tricky to do, but all it takes is practice and expirience, once you understand this part I'm tryng to explain you'll notice that the actual dificulty of doing a wild is not geting visuals or allucinations, but to not screw it up once you're inside a dream . And yeah its hard to explain so don't blame me for writing a mess.
      Here and there...

That might be it for me: 2 nights ago, I experienced vibrations 3 times, starting HI too, but then I always held onto my being conscious, and always tried to actively feel my body falling asleep...
I guess I'm up for a much better try this night
      Thanks

      Huuhhh?

Sortilegio- Thanks, I'll try that out, but I've been doing a fencing camp for 5 hours a day this week, so I'm exhausted every time I go to bed. I pretty much pass out.

That's exactly what happens to me, I keep myself awake since I focus on spotting the signs of WILD to much.

      hypnogogic imagery
When I was a kid I used to pray every night for a new bike. Then I realised that The Lord doesn't work that way, so I stole one and asked him to forgive me.

As the King of Illiterature said, it's hypnogogic imagery.

In case you don't know what that is, it's basically random shapes, pictures, objects, etc, that appear to you while you're on the verge of sleep. Basically hallucinations, but ones that occur while you're half asleep.
