I had a lucid dream, but...

...I didn't think to take advantage.

my friend was complaining about sunburn, so I told him "hey, this is a dream. I mean.. I'm dreaming, so why don't you just make it go away or something?"
      ?!?!
      what is wrong with me?
it's like I'm used to the idea that dreaming is dreaming and even when I know I'm dreaming I just go with it and forget about it.

      anybody have any advice?

Sounds like a low level lucid. I've had 3 lucids in which I knew I was in a dream but that's it..I continued with the activity..so it's normal I guess. It could be that Ur intent was to just realise U are dreaming and not about to go to some place or have fun. What I do is to add some incentive or 'task' to do if I realise I'm dreaming.

My first two were sort of like that, really low level in lucidity. You basically just have to have a higher lucidity level to control it.

Just focus on improving your recall, making the dreams more vivid, with increased vividness will come more conciouss thought which will enable you to judge things and make independant descisions instead of just going with the flow. Believe me, it worked for me, i found my judgements very bad but its improving as i improve my recall, give it a go.
