An untested method using Dream Characters.

Ok, I was just thinking to myself about ways to become lucid and this idea arose: Does anyone think it would be possible, while lucid, to tell your Dream Characters to remind you every night that you are dreaming until a state of lucidity is reached? (Im sorry if thats a confusing sentence, its the only way I knew how to word it) Has anyone tried this or something similar?

So you are asking if while you are in a Lucid State in a dream if it would be possible to find a DC, proceed to ask them to remind you when you are Dreaming, and then from that point on everytime you have a dream a DC will come up to you and tell you that you are dreaming?

Hmmm I don't think it would work, because that would somewhat require your DC's to be intelligent and carry a memory with them. More likely a DC would come up to you and say "Today Is Sausage, would like the ham?" , but that in itself could make you lucid.

But I don't think that your idea has a very high % rate of working, and if it did work I dont think it would work that frequently, but it is worth a shot I suppose.

It may work because the DC are Ur subconcious at least IMO. So Ur telling Ur subconcious directly what U want. And also U might create unconciously an intent to remind Urself that U are dreaming.

I suppose it is...I don't have to be reminded to be lucid but I have someone that appears every now and again to give me a hand...Shade.

Maybe try summoning your subconscious, or call it on a phone and tell it to always to remind you when you're dreaming.

See, thats what I was thinking. Since DCs are a part of you, there is a possibility of this working.

here's from the wikibooks article on lucid dreaming:

LILD stands for "Lucid Induction of Lucid Dreams”, or sometimes, “Lucidly Induced Lucid Dream”. To use this technique, you need to have a lucid dream in the first place, but it can help you to get more later. The idea is to do something in your dream that will help you to become lucid the next time you are dreaming. For example, you could ask a dream character for help — ask them to meet you the next night and tell you that you're dreaming.
