      reality checks please

I'm looking for a reality check that doesn't involve items (clocks, writing) and that isn't the breathing through the nose thing....

One other check I did so far in 2 dreams is the Matrix RC. I feel behind my neck for the jack thingy. Most likely if it's a dream..U'll feel it there sticking out of Ur skin. Or look at Ur arms for them..LOL.

the thing is.. in my dreams I don't believe I would find anything in the back of my neck, nor do I think my hands would move through eachother.

U would have to train Ur mind toward that, get the movie and watch it until Ur sure that there will be something at the back of Ur neck. Believe it's possible...

Why not the breath through nose RC? It's the best one, except for the one with watches and text.

Reality checks are difficult if the actual world you live in is crazy! I got woken up in the early hours of morning, to what I thought was the sound of a helicopter. At this point I didn't know if I was asleep or awake. Eventually I decided to look out my window and there outside, is a big ass helicopter with it's spotlight on! I don't know about you, but its not everyday I see a helicopter sittin off outside my house.

Now ofcourse I know it was just the police or someone tryin to find a person or something happening, but at 3am in the morning, you don't know what to think!

there is a reason I specified otherwise...
the nose thing doesn't work for me, and I don't always have text near me.

Although, this morning I had a false awakening and knew it because I looked at my clock and it changed times randomly. Except as soon as I realized it my vision went black. It's weird when you are looking at something and when your eyes close unexpectedly without closing.

I see Jamous. I find that the nose-rc fails from time to time aswell. The best one for you, is to try and put your left hand through and right hand, and when you do it, even in real-life, you have to really believe, that it will pass through. I recommend this as your primary RC, and if it works, then do another random RC of the book, like the nose one, reading, matrix, or whatever.

The whole premise behind that nose RC is you are breathing in real life so in the dream world no matter what, you would be able to breathe. From this, I can't see how the nose RC would fail. Can anyone explain to me why?

Even though you can breath in real-life, your dream-mind creates an even stronger impression of feeling, that feels like you can't breath. This does not happen often, but sometimes, it does.

Any tips on how I can get myself to do the RC's during my dreams? I do them during the day whenever I think of it, i've been trying to make a habit of it, but thus far I've been unable to remember to do them in my dreams.

Make it a habit, so that you do one everytime you see something unusual. Even on TV. If you see a horror movie, remember to focuse on the scene, check out the enviroment, and do a reality-check, every now and then.

theres always the common sense RC. think - is it a dream?
most of the time when dreaming, if you even think about dreams, you will relize its a dream.
looking at your hands is another simple RC. look for anything strange
i've read people also count their fingers.

Close one eye and look at your nose through the open one. If you're dreaming you won't see it...or so I'm told.

I had a friend whom I told about the finger reality check. And the next night when he checked his fingers in a dream, he was missing both thumbs!
