      Um. Second long WILD?

Okay, I never believed it was possible to achieve a WILD in such a short amount of time until a few days ago. I woke up from my alarm, then just said "I'm going to try a WILD". I lay on my back and was completely still, within a second I was in a lucid dream, sitting at my computer checking my e-mail. It didn't last long but it was formed within a second. Any thoughts on what could have happened? I also know this was not a WILD within a dream because of some dialog with a friend after the alarm went off that we both remember. Just thought I'd say what happened and see what you guys have to say on the subject of WILD'ing in a super short amount of time.

You woke up? Then you probably did a WBTB and not a WILD since a WILD is when you are already awake or have been awake and a WBTB is when you have woken up and then go back to bed. They are pretty much the same, but when you perform is what gives them their names. As for a second are you sure? I thin k it took you more than a second. And since you said a super short amount of a time that goes more along the lines of WBTB since WILD usually takes a few minutes or longer.

To further clarify, I didn't get out of bed, I stayed in there, so this was not a WBTB, I am absolutely certain it only took a second for the WILD to happen.

      It happens.

I had a rough 5 second WILD about a year ago.

Since then the 'phenomenon' has been explored and the technique of Dream Reentry (DEILD I think is the acronym) has been developed on these forums somewhere. I'd check it out, it should answer your questions.

Spluh, I invented DEILD and have experienced it many many times. This however, was a straight up WILD.

I'm pretty sure DEILD is a strand of WILD.

Isn't the idea of DEILD that you stay completely still after waking (from a dream), and hence very quickly reenter the dreamstate?

And if so, isn't that just what he did?

      - I did move around a bit after awaking, switch positions and get comfortable.
      - I thought I would try a WILD
      - WILD took one second

There you have it, not a DEILD, since only after a few minutes of lying down after moving around and getting comfortable did I attempt to WILD.

Oh, well there you go then. Our current WILD techniques seem to be revolving around not communicating with the body... I guess that can't be the only way then.

When things like this happen it just shows us how little we know. ._.
