Try this when you wake up don't move or even open your eyes and get back to sleep and see how that works. This has a 100% success rate with me. |

whenever I try a WBTB method, I always find myself finished reading dream related tutorials after about 20 minutes. What can I do, that wont compromise my WBTB performance? can listening to music or watching a movie (not necessarily dream related) or even playing my guitar for 30 mins before, then read tutorials for 30mins before going back to bed stand any chance of working? |

I find that a good way to keep yourself active is to imagine what you intend to do in the lucid, it keeps you in a good state of mind and you have things fresh on your mind for when becoming lucid, you can plan things to how you want them. |
|
To first quote No, if you noticed that you have woken up focus on a dream or a dream you just had this will keep you aware and accomponied with your extreme drowsiness from having woken up seconds ago you will fall back to sleep extremely quickly allowing another dream that will most likely be lucid to follow suite. |

I think reading a book can be helpful, and it doesn't have to be LD related. I think that by reading a book you're exercising your imagination and that should help. |

I'm sure 20 minutes would be enough, but then again it's different for everyone. I had a lucid last night and I was only up during WBTB for about 10 minutes. I would say go ahead and listen to music or whatever you want to, but the last thing you do before you fall asleep should be lucid dream related, so maybe the last 10 or 20 minutes of your being awake could be reading tutorials |
|
Nothing is set in stone Tutorials are guidelines to get you started what you should be doing is modifying them to fit your own style and what find what works best for you. |
|
If nothing works you could always try something that rhymes with "basterbate". |
|
Just an extra idea, you could maybe try some meditation to get you in a clear state of mind, you could also try writing down like a script or storyline to how you want your lucid dream to be because this is known to help it stay on top of your mind. It's worth a try! Good Luck |

DCK7 your basturbation idea may have potential. I have done it right before going back to sleep, though I didn't achieve lucids, I DID have vivid energetic dreams, perhaps because of the increased ension or bloodflow hehe. But seriously try it, it can't hurt. (unless you do it compulsively). |

Brothers & Sisters in Dreams
one thing that really helped me during WBTB (it was the first time it actually worked for me) was when I wrote down everything I needed to remember. Like usually I would fall asleep saying "I'm going to know I'm dreaming" "I'm going to remember to do a RC when I see my dreamsign" etc. but just before I fell asleep I wrote it all down, and then it was easier to keep in mind as I was falling asleep. Except I dont know how that would help with keeping you entertained, but it helped me |

Actually, I would recommend watching some porn. It stimulates your mind. |
